I;ve been accepted into Georgia Southern and Baylor but i can't really find a current opinion on either. Seriously, what do people think of these schools?

bump. I’d really appreciate anything…

Baylor is a great scientific university…I am using a bodybuilding supplement tested by them and its working dreams for me…6 pounds in 2 weeks and non-hormonal…U mirin my gains brah???

lmao. it better not be force facter. those ads look creepy.

nah its x-factor advanced…highly recommend it…and for Baylor I think it is more of a unknown gem if you know what I mean…not many people know about it but it is good

really? hear in texas its a pretty big deal…its just that thought the education is top notch, its ridiculously expensive and the atmosphere sorta sux. at least so I hear…but then again I hear about Georgia Southern being Infested with STDs and terrible academics…I dont know what to believe at this point.

I live in Georgia and hear many horrible things about GA Southern

oh really? such as?

have you looked at alleged student reviews at students review.com

Baylor’s reasonably reputable. They have a great medical school, which probably means that they also have good life sciences programs. I don’t know anything about Georgia Southern, never heard it as a place that people aspired to, and I lived in Georgia. I don’t have personal experience with either.

Baylor College of Medicine is not associated with Baylor University, and BCM is actually currently in talks to merge with Rice. Baylor is a decent academic school, but from what I hear you should be prepared for a fairly conservative environment. You should also probably visit Waco and make sure you would be happy living there; it’s not a huge place and is, again, fairly conservative.

I know the atmosphere at baylor sucks unless you’re a very rich and preppy and love to drink. Also the town isn’t too fun. I live in austin and a lot of people commute over here to do do shopping and other activities.

o see well so far, as far as concrete details, Georgia has a lead. Everything I’ve heard negative about them has been hearsay and the student reviews had a lot of good things to say. Also, Baylor, even with my scholarships, is pretty expensive…and I’ve had enough church.

Why not seek the advice of someone who’s actually been to Baylor (or to Georgia Southern for that matter)? Also, if you’re so certain that you wouldn’t like those elements of Baylor, why’d you apply in the first place?

Anyway, for what it’s worth, I’ll pitch in and say that as a student who has visited Baylor, been accepted to Baylor, and is considering Baylor, that I thought it was a beautiful campus full of friendly students. Yes, Waco is not the grandest city you’ll ever visit, but it’s not bad so far as college “towns” go. Also, I won’t deny the conservative, religious atmosphere. But all things considered, I think it’s a solid school that will offer a very good education and a good undergraduate experience.

Out of curiosity, what are your stats? Have you considered the Honors College? Have you gotten a financial aid/merit aid estimate yet based on your scores? You should consider these things before making a decision.

whoa ok, I have looked up reviews to both, I know quite a few people personally that go to baylor. They also feel that the atmosphere sux, I only applied honestly to see if I would be accepted and if so how much money they would give me. They gave me a preferred app so it was free and I figured what could it hurt. I got accepted and offered 42,000 in scholarship awards for Baylor. But I’ve visited Georgia southern myself and love the atmosphere and appearance, and I am pretty determined to go out of state. therefore, Georgia southern has the leg up so far. It is also much cheaper AND I’m being considered for scholarships there but wont hear anything until february.
