When we made the predictions list, i noticed that i was the only one who submitted ACT scores to Y. I guess I have several questions:
1. Did anyone else submit ACT scores in lieu of SAT I's and II's?
2. If you only officially submitted your ACT, but an unofficial copy of your SAT scores appears on your transcript, how is that handled? I scored significantly better on my ACT (35, which is like a 1560-1590 converted to SAT form according to Princeton Review) than I did on my SAT (1430). There is also an SATII Writing score of 760 on my transcript.
3. I know they say they take either on the app, but does Yale look down on the ACT as opposed to the SAT? Seriously, where I live the only place people have heard of the SAT is on tv. I'm one of probably 5-10 who have taken the SAT at my school of 1400, and i know of only one other guy who took any SATII's.

btw, in case you aren't familiar with the ACT, it has four sections-Math, English, Reading and Science Reasoning. each is scored on a scale of 0-36, and they are then averaged to come up with the final score, the highest possible being, obviously, a 36.

1) I didn't, but my friend did
2) They will take the ACT for it all if it is higher. In lieu of your SAT II's, they will use the individual ACT sections.
3) Yale does not look done on the ACT. An admissions officer told me that, pretty much.

I sent both. All my scores were in the same range from both tests, so I guess I really didn't accomplish anything by sending them, but I figured it couldn't hurt. It is my understanding that the ACT and the SAT are considered equally, just like many schools who take the Common Application and their own application do not discriminate against the Common App in any way.
