For months I've read the postings....."Please what are my chances"..."Please read my essay"..."Are my stats good enough"...."I received a catalog...does it mean something"..."What if my essay goes 100 words over limit"...etc.etc. So much angst and worry... We speak of the Admissions Staff with hushed and reverant tone....Do you think that the Admissions people look at these postings, and laugh? Perhaps there is no secret selection method...only a dart board full of applications and staff holding a handful of darts. I try to keep a sense of humor about this. At this point, it is out of my control. In one of these postings...I read someone say that if they didn't get accepted to ND, it was because God had other plans for them. I think I have adopted this attitude. So all of your fellow nervous high school seniors...have fun your last semester, enjoy the close friends that you have made and realize that we are living some of the best days of our lives! Good luck Class of 2011!

I'm hoping that they'll see my application as a bullseye :D.

Admissions does take this very seriously, trust me on that, and there are things they are looking for. However, I think they are very fair and they do a very good job with a difficult job.

At this point all you can do is wait, pray, and know it is in God's hands. I know how that is, I am in the same place with graduate school applications. It will work out one way or another. Good luck everyone!

yes they probably do take it seriously but catdog's got a good point these are still some of the best days of our lives..it is out of our control and we shouldn't worry about it..we've done everything we could do in our last 3 years of school

i would not be surprised if notre dame monitored forums such as this one but i do not think it would be in the best interest of time to try and match "chances thread" posters with applicants to see "who" is posting...

they probably are just monitoring the public's perception of the school and the admissions process
