As we all know, UCSD has a formula for admissions, and (for the most part), those who exceed the cutoff are accepted. I was just curious as to how the cutoff trend has been in recent years (did the new SAT have any affect on the number, or was the points assessment scaled to adjust?). I know the cutoff has gone up, and is expected to go up again, but by how much, is the question. Thanks for any input!

Well, in 2004 the cutoff was 7400..in 2005...maybe 7500? and maybe for this year it will be 7600?

SAt won't change..I think..it's just the where the writing portion ( from SatII to Sat I) was placed..that's all..no big change there

2005 the cutoff was 7483 (instate). I know because I missed the cutoff by 33 points, but I appealed and got in.

2004 - 7456 (in-state), 7586 (out-of-state)

i was wondering about this too.
Instate 7456 for year 2003
7465 for 2004
7483 for 2005

If you do the math thats 9pts from 03 - 04 and 18pts from 04 - 05.
So, if you get 7600 you SHOULD be safe
Most likely though, it will be 7500-7550 for instate
iderno bout outstate
