The Admissions Process Slideshow

| The Harvard Crimson

check it out. pretty unsettling
why would they do it on paper? sigh. what a waste!

Thanks for posting, that was interesting. And yes I’m surprised as well that they do all of that online just to print out over a million sheets of paper.

They do it on paper because they make notes, pass around sheets etc. The point of the online apps is to secure speedy delivery of apps, avoid losing the applications and getting the process done faster not to save paper. Also, a paper trail is much easier to deal with than a digital one. And what happens if all the servers shut down? What if they lost all the information? Technology isn’t reliable, and we all know it. Going through apps is a long process… if they lost all their info, they don’t have the time to start over again.
That was very interesting, by the way… it’s kinda cool that they put that up on the crimson.

That was frightening. I want my crimson/red-looking folder already!

The Harvard admissions office kills trees!

Tree huggers against Harvard!

I thought this was a blast too | [Prefrosh Weekend Gets an Extreme Name Makeover | FlyByBlog | Harvard Life. To Go.](The Harvard Crimson) |

Looks like my app made it into the full committee…still expecting rejection though.

^^
i LOLed on “Awkward Greetings, Meaningless Meetings”

andromeda89- did you get a likely to harvard? jeez

^ Yep, pretty much decided to attend Harvard if I get the official email on the 1st.

cicero: How do you know if it made it to the full committee.

I want a red packet :)

@whoaness: I believe he had a second interview, which usually is an indication that the committee wants more information.

And yeah. There’s probably no way I’m getting a red packet. At least not with the odds >92% against me. :(

^haha its more like 94% :/

^is comforted :(

Did anyone see CNN’s American Morning show today? Stanford has an admit rate of 7.2%, with RD AND EA COMBINED. froths at mouth

So yeah. Definitely no chance here. At least I can be happily pessimistic, though–it’s not like I was getting in anyway with admit rates like that.

Yep my mom told me about that TV spot. At least I don’t feel THAT bad about being rejected, along with 93% of the applicants :)

So do we expect Harvard’s acceptance rate to dip? Sub 7% perhaps?

“The admissions packets that will be mailed out to roughly 2,000 lucky applicants…”

So if more than 30,000 applied, the admit rate will be approximately 6.7%.

Ouch : /

Wow! they use a lot of ink and paper! that long process about sub-committees and committees is scary!
