The age old question (Re: retake).

Retake or not retake in December? It's pretty much my last chance, but it'd be * 5th * time.

I progressed from

27 - sept 2007 (E, M, R, S)
31 - april 2008 (33, 30, 33, 29) <--- One freaking point, from the 32 comp AND the 33 superscore!!!
30 - sept 2008 (34, 31, 28, 26)
31 - oct 2008 (30, 32, 34, 26)

I promsied myself I'd study to improve, but I never really did. I looked over some some practice tests the night before oct 2008, but that's pretty much it. I'm aiming for top 40 schools, a couple in the top 20s. My GPA isn't stellar, so I was kind of hoping that my scores would outweigh it.

Have I maxed out, or is it worth the 65?

Thanks.

Go for it. It's all or nothing.

Colleges don't superscore the ACT.

Incidentally, a few that I'm applying to do superscore.

Any more feedback? Should I do it?

Anyone? Please? I must decide by today!

A big psychological difference (if not statistical) between a 31 & 32, since a 32 is 1400+.

But retake only if you will do some prep, focusing on science. Your last score was a 30.5 rounded up, so to hit 32, you'll need another 4/5 correct questions. But, with score choice there is nothing to lose, except sleep and a few bucks.

btw: which schools do you know that superscore the ACT?

Bluebayou: At least WUSTL. I recently came across a credible list somewhere on here, but now that I'm searching for it, I'm having difficulty finding it; keep looking, there are a few of them scattered throughout CC.

I still haven't decided! Argh! Also, while I'm at it, does anyone know if I'd be able to see my scores before submitting them for jan 1?

I'm in the same situation. December would be my 5th time and I'm trying to improve upon a 32.

sammy:

If you search the archives for last Dec, you'll find that many Dec scores were not "up" after the holidays in Jan. No way to tell when ACT will post 'em this year..."starting Dec 24.." according to website. They usually update Wed nite, Fri nite, and Sun nite, but with Xmas and New Years, who knows?

If you're willing to study. Alot. Seriously, study. Then take the test one final time.
