<p>It's unusual if they were rude or harassing, though. I party a good amount, and I've never experienced problems with men not treating women appropriately. In fact, I've seen guys and girls speak up against a guy who appeared to be over-enthusiastic with a girl (they were actually really good friends and just fooling around). Guys offer to walk me home or ask if I'm OK. The hosts of parties always keep an eye out to make sure that everyone is polite and having fun. Disrespect of women is something that's really not tolerated by anyone here. I'm very sorry that you ran into insensitive guys. There are rude men at every school, but my experiences have been almost uniformly positive.</p>
<p>Anyway, surely there must be parents or students who know about party culture at other schools.</p>
