The AP Chemistry Thread

Well, it's over with. How did everyone do?

I felt completely unprepared going into this exam, and I felt pretty good at the end of it. The multiple choice (OMG, #'s 1-15.. ***) were a little rocky, but I made up for it with FRQ 1, 2, 6, and 8. They were amazing! I'm hoping for a 5, but if not, I've got a 4, definitely.

oops, didnt see old thread :-p disregard this

that was too easy. Seriously, the MC? A joke. FRQ was..eh... but overall, very easy, I thought. I was so worried for this too. It's either my optimistic nature or Barrons. I'd like to think it was me.
Anyway, with the 5=62% curve, it's hard to not to well!

I did FR 2 and 7, unlike everyone else in my class who did 3 and 8.
5 was tough since we goofed off in every lab we've done this year.
The others weren't too bad.

I did 2 and 7 as well. They were easy, and only a few stuff I didn't know (like bond angle, and formal charge). Other than that, I'm v. confident in my answers. That test made me feel smart.

I forgot my bond angles, as well. Idk. Partial credit would be a GODSEND.

prays to Allah, Jesus, Rael, et al. for a 4/5

Is there confirmation on 5 = 62% ?!?

Probably. It's around the low 60s.

What is a 4???

Throw me a bone here. Around what grade can I expect with a MC raw score of 35 and one-half right on the FR?

madskier: ~ 3/4... maybe?!?

Thank you KupMup. I personally thought it would be lower, like maybe 2-3, but your mentioning that 4 helped my self-esteem. I hope the person correcting my FR is nice

I'm guessing low 60s for 5 here too. MC was harder than usual, but not excessively. 15/15 on reactions (w00t!), at least 6/9 or 10 for equilibrium FR, FR2 = eh... lol at least I got part d

FR5 (lab one) was incredibly easy, I remember those "mini-labs" all the time and I know my solubility rules like the back of my hand, FR6 was pretty good, I made some stupid mistakes but studying that stuff the night before helped a ton. FR7 was really easy I'm sure I got full on that. 60-65 for MC - gearing for a 5.

I'm just glad we played with fire a lot in Chemistry this year

Ugh I missed that we had a option for 2-3 and 7-8, so I did 2 and 7 before I realized I could have done 3 and 8, which I would have aced. I barely got any points on 2 and 7. Seriously, directions are the hardest part at times.

Well, funny story: I didn't know about the calc part/ no calc part, so when I was given the test, I went to section...6? (the one with 5 net-ionic reactions we could choose) and did those. Then I read "this is a no calculator section." So basically I lost about 6 minutes of precious time that I could've used my calculator. Lucky me, though, I got the calc section done within the time limit for calc use.
I did seciton 2 and 7, too. I had no idea about section 8, so I just did 7, which i knew marginally better. I did 2 b/c it was such a easy problem (I just stuck with it), though I hear 3 was much easier. Oh well. Bond angle for a tetrahedrons are always...

yeah, i checked once I got home. I put the one for trigonal planar b/c i thought it was 3D so it would make a difference? I don't know. Still don't get formal charge. Does anyone understand/cover that material?

No way; 2 was MUCH easier than 3. The graph for 3 looked confusing - and so did the data, so I didn't even try.

I did # 2 and #8 i think i got at least 50% on both so ehh... :)

i beg to differ. i feel that it was harder than the other

109.5 was the bond angle

can someone please give an estimate on 40MC 55-60% free response?
