how do you prepare for the essay?

what is the quickest way to prepare for this exam? Do you suggest buying a book or just reviewing material from throughout the year? Is the test really as hard as I have heard...b/c from what I hear, Language tests are by far the hardest for AP exams.

I took it last year, after a Spanish IV (Pre-IB) class, and was lucky, in my opinion, to get a 3. This year I feel much more prepared after just getting more acquainted with the language. I have the REA and PR books for it and I've just been going through those, practicing my reading and listeningg skills.

Wabash,
To prepare for the essay, I would jsut reccommend learning key phrases, verbs, and transitonal blurbs to help you in your essay. "Sin Embargo" "Yo pienso que" etc. These make it much easier to flow in your writing.

I'm taking both the AP and IB Spanish tests this may. I'm in a good IB spanish class this year and took a waste of time AP class last year.

How similar are the two tests? What extra stuff should I do to prepare for the AP one?

I'm taking IB SL Spanish, and the AP Spanish exam. My teacher says that IB is a joke compared to AP...

I am a native speaker, read books in Spanish, lived in a Spanish speaking country for 10 years, etc.
I consider the test challenging, even for a native speaker. Obviosuly, there is not much that I do to prepare as I find it more practical to "feel" the language rather than memorize grammar. Took a few practice tests. Have any of you heard how native speakers do without much prep?

4's mostly

which is good for a native

I'm a native as well...

There's an essay, fill-ins, listening, lots of reading comp (heard they added alot more, subtracted grammar), and the speaking thing.

Too much stuff going on....I don't know how I'll do on the speaking.

Respaso?

lol, except I tend to stutter a lot. I'm trying to work on that. And maybe try to improve or make the best use of the 2 minutes they give us to "think" about the cartoon.

indeed

im reviewing the tenses this last week. What about you?

So if I have one week before the exam, and feel totally unprepared, what would be the best thing(s) to cram? Vocab? Grammar? Idioms?

Any other advice?

sigh If I don't pass this, at least I can try taking the placement exam at my college during orientation.

I'm finishing reviewing tenses using The Ultimate Spanish Review and Practice

and a little of "AP Spanish" by D

i need a 3!

I personally am not preparing a ton, just going over some old exams I've done and working on some grammar refreshments. I feel that what I know, I know, and I just hope to get a 4. Last year I got a 3, but I feel much more comfortable with Spanish this year.

cool.i should have taken span 5 this yr:( but i took span'span speakers

how does this compare to the SAT II in spanish?

SAT II wayyyyy easier
