The AP US Government and Politics Thread 2010

hey guys whose ready whose nervous anythoughts?
Spring breaks coming up Ill start prepping soon
We took a practice test in class today without any studying it was sooooo easy thank god!

I’m planning to take it next year as a self study! Can I still join in this thread?

I have this exam coming up in less than a couple months now. I have no worries because I took the class last semester, after a year of APUSH. It made Gov seem a lot easier since some of the knowledge overlapped from last year, especially the court cases. I took both practice tests in PR and scored nearly perfect on both for MC without studying beforehand. I average a decent score on the essays. I only need to score a 3 so I’m good for this one. :)

Crash Course was delivered today! I’ll be starting official studying next week. I really should say “official learning” as for I had a student teach since the start of the semester and he didn’t teach. At all.

This class is such a joke for me. If I don’t get a 5 on this exam, I’ll be disappointed. Lovegov =]

I just got crash course, but I’m waiting on cliffnotes

Is anyone else having trouble downloading the crash course’s online practice exam

I’d be surprised if I got a 5 - we didn’t cover much material and the things we did cover are completely irrelevant to the test.

I’m still on the fence about Crash Course - does it look promising?

^Why are you on the fence?

Haha! I was just going to reference you to Dark Knight’s research/data collection.

I loveee crash course!! I also used pr and cliffs during the class which really helped since our class tests r really really hard and they r curved so the highest mult choice gets a hundred (with out the essay usually with the essays the highest grade is mid to high 90s) when we took the practice AP we all go to our teacher whyddd u make us work sooo hard this is sooo much easier! (We even had weekly current events quizes on the week in review from the nytimes!) I really want a 5 on this one so I need to cram like crazy.
I was dismayed to find Dark Nights analysis of pr as horrible I was going to supplement crash course with pr it seems like too much on its own! Now i dont know if I should use my pr or cliffnotes which before dks analysis I wouldve recommended

Did u guys start studying yet?

Probably because I don’t feel comfortable filling in certain gaps I have about the material with a simple review book lol. I have the same issue w/ AP Biology. When I learn something, I like to go way in depth with the material and fully immerse myself in it. But I suppose anyone can point out the impracticality in that learning style given the very little time I have till the AP Exam.

Lol, I admit I didn’t really take a close look at your thread (which I will when I get a moment). But I did come across Crash Course a few months ago and saw the author was Larry Kreiger (almost a selling point lol), and I made a quick mental note to keep that in the back of my mind.

Ideally it would be best to study topics in depth. But time is passing. Best strategy is to identify the key topics and study them.

I think I’m going to start posting review questions soon.

^^ please, do!

Crash Course probably produces the best results in the least amount of time.

hurrah for its title :)

I love this class so much.

I just took the 2002 test and got 50/60 (with 10 wrong) on the MC part. Anyone know how well would I have to do on the essays to get a 5?

Bump…

Less than a month left!

And I’m also adding a question for review (if anyone wants to answer):

*Define congressional oversight. *

I guess just continue on w/ the questions…
