The AP US Government and Politics Thread 2010

Lol…I just spent 7 hours locked up in library and trying to force myself to study. I still feel like I don’t know much. I’m pretty worried about the FRQ - ugh, what if I can’t come with something?

For tonight: Go over the Chapter on Presidency + Crash Course + 1 more Practice Exam + AP Central = hopefully bed by 10 PM

How accurate is sparknotes and barrons?

Just for MC, accorcding to sparknotes, im getting a 3
barrons - 32.5 MC (38/22) so like 3-5 basically

Sparknotes and Barrons are much harder than the actual exam.

Sounds like a good idea…

what is this Crash Course thing everyone keeps talking about?

i feel bad about this exam. 1) im not very motivated because i cant even get college credit, so yeah. 2) im only taking it because my counselor says i have to, because i took the class. 3) my last history/govt class was in 8th grade.

im feeling maybe a 3. possibly a 4. possibly a 2.

Well, that’s good news O_O I need at least a 4. lol. + Not bad for not doing anything all year and cramming 400 pages in 2 days :D

^ Expecting a 4 at minimum after roughly 8 hours of total studying :). A pretty comprehensive background in USH + Economics helps though.

So if I got a 5 on the sparknotes test (I missed one) and got either high 4’s or 5’s on all the PR and REA practice tests, should I be in good shape for a 5? I’m kinda like paranoid that they’re just going to happen to ask all the questions that I DON’T know the answer to…

I forgot all my USH :frowning: Economics…well my teacher didn’t teach us anything.

Anyway if your doing so well on the MC, I’d focus on the FRQs

I feel like some of these FRQs could be answered without any knowledge of the course whatsoever lol.

wait, do u need to label seperate parts for the frq? our teacher never made us do that

Yea, Jersey, let’s hope they have those type of FRQs on the test tomorrow :).

I can’t believe I’m sleepy.

I feel oppressed by the heat. It was 50 degrees 4 days ago…

Dude, I’m sleepy now too lol. It must be because of being reading and studying like a madman all day…

my head hurts… is the MC multiplied by a curve of some sort, like 1.25 or only the essays are? a 43.5 is around a 3-4? right?

^ I think it’s only the essays. ~2.5 I believe.

Gonna take a practice test right now.

from the frq’s i’ve looked at on the collegeboard website, i feel as though i have to really dumb down my level of thinking to get the right answer to them… to the extent that the questions are really hard. i “know” all the answers, but it’s not the thing that comes to mind when i see the question.

@Significa: We get credit if we get a 3 on this exam :).

57/60 MC Practice Test, I’m pretty satisfied :)

motion - I thought it was 4 for BU? :P

Nvm, just looked at the guidelines lol. Guess I’m done studying for the day :D
