The Appeal process. Need a lot of help.

I recently applied to Vanderbilt but got rejected during the regular decision process. Please, does anyone have any idea of how to write a mind blowing appeal? Vanderbilt is my dream school. I just want to give it another shot. I hope I make it.

Appeal if you like, but don’t get your hopes up. I found this on Vanderbilt’s website, in a blog written by one of the staff members in Admissions:

Do you have new significant facts as the basis for your appeal? Just reiterating that it’s your dream school won’t do it, no matter how “mind blowing” your writing is.

You weren’t included in the over 6,000 students offered a waitlist spot. I think it’s futile to think that you’ll have something in your appeal letter that not only gets you out of the rejected stack – but also propels you past those 6,000 other students ahead of you in Vandy’s eyes.

It’s time to move on and accept Vandy’s decision. If you must, read this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vanderbilt-university/1754949-waitlisted-at-vandy.html

I agree…an appeal would only be useful if you thought there was some kind of egregious mistake made.
If a student is not on the wait list, then they are saying that they are not what they are looking for.Start looking closely at your other schools. Love thy safety.

thanks guys
