Start applying!

Also, since I only care about myself (haha), if you're applying as a transfer student, does it make any sense to apply now?

what is the link...I keep getting an error messege.

Yeah, I'm getting the error message too.

a2wolves, i thought you were applying to ross?!
cmon.. i know you want to :]

I think the go-live is later this week (maybe tomorrow, August 2nd?). Try then.

And A2, I love your enthusiasm but do realize that transfer admissions is even less "rolling" than undergrad--as someone pointed out in another thread, they will want to see some college grades. Thus, you're setting yourself up for a big and inevitable delay between when your transfer app is submitted and when it might possibly be reviewed. I know how galling that wait was for you last year.

Ross' application doesn't come out until Winter, in another few months. And after talking to a few employers, I don't think i'm going to be majoring in business, because i'm not so sure that I want to work for banks and stuff doing jobs I don't care about but make a bunch of money.

Thanks hoedown, that's what I figured, it made it sound like it was almost regular decision, them wanting applications by a certain date and them giving decisions on a certain date.

I'm still getting the download for last years application.

A2, that may be the case for student applying as sophomores, because they have a year of college grades ready for review immediately.

you need a year under your belt before applying as a transfer unless u could have entered as a regular freshman student...

I know, i'm applying for sophomore statusand sending them my grades as I get them.

I might apply as a Transfer. I want NU but this is a back-up because I am from Michigan.

Alright guys/girls/extraterrestrials, it looks like the UM Undergraduate Freshman Application for the year of 2006-2007 is officially out!!!:)

There are only 2 essays for transfers? I already have both these written, lol.

How long should the Ross BBA Preferred Admit Essay be?

I'm already finished, but I have some questions.

ETHNICITY: Am I lowering my chances when i'm putting down that i'm white, when I could just not answer?

INCOME/AID: I know they are need-based, so will I be hurting my chances if I state that don't have a high income? Both my parents are currently unemployed, dad was laid off last week, although he usually works M-F. Should I write unemployed, or will his look very bad? Should I be releasing my info to the scholarship committee? I'm not going to be getting a large scholarship, so I don't think i'll need to.

I actually think they'll be able to find out about income/race so I might as well not hide it.

ESSAYS: I wrote essays from last years application where I was waitlisted. Should I re-do these or just use them again? I don't think they were bad, or were the reason I wasn't admitted.

At the very least I'd re-work them a little bit. A.) You can never be positive that they weren't why you didn't get in, and b.) What if your borderline and the admissions person decides to check out your essays from last year? Doesn't show an overwhelming amount of effort that you simply recycled your essays. If you need a reader or something, though, feel free to PM me.

Oh, and in regards to ethnicity: just put that you're white; you don't want to look devious. That, and the fact that you do NOT want them to think you're asian.

I personally didn't fill in race because of political reasons, I didn't want it working for or against me. Not the most Machiavellian tactic, but yeah...

Finally the applications forms are up so start filling.
Good Luck everyone.

So applying now as a transfer won't matter?

I don't know when to send it in, I was told applying now looks bad, because it's like you're not giving your current school a chance.
