The application is open for the Class of 2014.

If you are a rising senior, you can apply now for LSU. I already have a friend who applied and received her acceptance.

How long from the date she applied did it take for her to get her acceptance? Any idea what her stats were?

Thank you.

She applied I think on June 22nd. She received her acceptance on June 26th. I applied last year on July 1st and I received my acceptance July 6th.

If you’re instate, you’ll receive your acceptance really early. OOS you might have to wait a week or two.

Her stats were:

3.87/4.0 GPA
ACT: 26
2 APs (Jr. Yr.)
4 APs (Sr. Yr.)
6 Honors classes (not counting this year)
Dual enrolled at another local university and earned 6 hours of college math
Numerous awards through Band/Choir
200+ hours of volunteer service

Are you notified of your acceptance online, by email, or through the mail?

Thank you.

You are notified through the mail.

You can actually check your application status through PAWS. It will tell you when a decision has been made, but not the decision. I believe this feature is under “Application Status.”

^Yes, that would be an option as well. I didn’t do that last year, though, because my acceptance letter arrived in the mail much quicker than it was updated online.

Are you sure? Every time I click Apply now it goes to a page saying the information could not be displayed.

[Apply Online](http://www.lsu.edu/paurec/apply.shtml)

^Yes, I am sure that you can apply now. I applied last year at this time, and my friend received her acceptance a couple weeks ago. I clicked on your link, and it works on my computer. Try again and see. If it still doesn’t work, contact the Admissions office to see what’s up.

It’s working now, thanks! But wont they need my transcripts and stuff?

Good point… tigerbound, do you know how your friend got her transcripts in the summer?

LSU can download the transcripts of in-state students from some LA database of public school grades. No mailing required.

Well, I’m not in-state.

so can anyone apply? or do you have to have certain stats. i read somewhere that if you can’t apply early action unless you have certain stats. I have a 3.4/23 ACT, so could I apply?

thanks guys

Lenda2533- I didn’t really think about OOS students. In state students, have the luxury of our transcripts being sent through the DOE database. You can apply now, but I would try to contact your school immediately right after school begins. Is your school open during the summer (b/c of summer school or other reasons)? If so, talk to whoever is there and see if they can send your transcripts to LSU. They can take your application, but they won’t process it until they have your transcripts.

HoustonOilers27- I would go ahead and apply, because the earlier you apply the better perks you get. If you’re an OOS, it comes in handy to apply as early as possible, because you get to register for housing earlier than everybody else.
