The application

OK, ok so you guys are probably going to be really opposed to this, but can someone lie on their college application NOT EXTREME like saying I won the nobel peace prize but like stretching the truth and saying you did a certain EC for 3 years rather than 2 and saying your recieved awards that weren't really official etc.

Don't post if you are going to tell me how bad it is because I know its the wrong thing to do but these days whatever it takes to get in you gotta do it I just want some tips and advice as to whether or not they cross reference ECS, Comm service and Awards because I know they check your references for grades.

Thanks CCers

Can: Yes
Should: No

ECs don’t matter that much anyway. If you’re that worried about it then you need to chill about the whole college process. And no, they don’t really check as far as I am aware. Plus, lying is psychologically bad, like stealing. Just remember, if you do this, one day you’ll be runnin’ over school kids in your car. Seriously, despite my levity, it really is a slippery slope.

Edit: And just as a heads up: arbitrarily telling people trying to help you that they shouldn’t post if they aren’t going to tell you what you want to hear is not very considerate.
