The Apprentice

does anybody follow this show? i didnt follow last season until the last epsiode, but i did follow the frist season. i think this show has some interesting moments. my uncle from U Chicago MBA and my cousin from UCLA Anderson MBA both think its rubbsih. what do you guys think?

when my mentor drilled me for a mock interview, it reminded of how the donald drilled his little bitches in his board room: "why should i not fire you? why are you better than the next guy? what makes you so special? why should i like you? im gonna eat yer babies grrrrrr, YER FIRED" eww, the interview process sucks in our trade.

im glad Kelly won the last season. id rather employ/work for that guy than that chick. what a bitch, nobody liked her.

anybody else think it was interesting how on the first season a white male won against a black male, and on the second season a white male won against a female? hmmmmmm...

Yea I watch that show and love it. I never watched the first season though because I used to think it's another one of those pointless reality shows. Once I started watching season two I got hooked. IMO, it's one heckuvan interesting show. I wouldn't comment on how 'realistic' this reality show is though...Afterall, I'm just a high school senior w/ no experience whatsoever.

Do job interviewers really ask those sorta questions ("Why should I hire you?" "Why do you want this job?") that The Donald asks???

and yes, I'm glad Kelly won! I think he's really qualified for this job. That "blonde barbie" couldnt do anything...

omg this is my favorite show ever! i watched both season 1 and 2 and i am proud to say that i have never missed an episode! kelly was definately more qualified but i just didn't like his personality. he was too dull and he seems like the type of manager i would talk badly about behind his back. but oh well.. i'm very excited for season 3, i think it's great that they're adding a "twist" to it and making it the book smarts vs. the street smarts. in reality however, it takes a little bit of both to be successful in business, but it will be interesting to know which one is more valuable.

indeed, recruiters do ask questions like: why should i hire you? what skills do you have? etc...you better be prepared. most poeple arent.

ya, season 3 sounds reaslly interesting, i wonder who will win. kelly and bill both seemed to have more street savvy, more so than their ivy league educated final competitors.

i personally think the donald is over rated. i do think hes really smart.

he is overrated, but whatever works

how can you call jen from the apprentice a bitch? you can't base anything on reality telivision. my aunt went to harvard law with her and said she is the nicest most down to earth person ever...did you ever think that maybe it is how the producers wanted her to look. she is not just a "blonde barbie"! she is so intelligent and strong minded and has her success to account for that. also it is much more difficult for women to gain success in fields such as business and law, and especially for women who are as pretty as she is because of a typical stereotype. im not trying to insult anyone i just really admire jen and i don't think it is right how you people are reffering to her as a "blonde barbie".

and i agree with the fact that donald trump isn't too bright...you can tell just by some of the things he says.

Haha, Donald Trump not bright? That has go to be THE funniest thing I have ever heard. Once you have a net worth of 2.5 billion come talk to me. Then I shall agree with you.

i am not saying he is not successful...he most certaintly is. also, i am not saying i am brighter than him...im 16 years old...i strongly doubt i can be compared to that of a 50 sumthing year old man. i just do not think he is intelligent. you can become successful without being intelligent. its about taking risks and getting lucky. i pride him on that just not on intelligence.

why do people always try to start with you on here...my god...you can't say one wrong thing

True. It doesn't take a genius to become successful. Of course, you cant be like STUPID either.

Maybe because you're insulting his intelligence. Yes you have to be smart to have a net worth of 2.5 billion. And no luck is not going to get you that far. You may think of smart as "Find the derivative of 5x^2 +2," but that's one kind of smart. The people who only know how to study and get good grades in school usually don't make it very far in the business world. You have to have an acuity for good business deals. THAT is Donald Trump smart. (Anyways, he went to Wharton. Last time I checked that is one of the top 3 business schools in the world).

"Yes you have to be smart to have a net worth of 2.5 billion." that's not a proven fact...and i'm not insulting anything, im telling you my opinion

and you don't have to agree with it...when i disagreed with the comment made about jen i wasn't rude like you

He's the largest developer of land in New York City! How is that lucky? He constantly looks for lucrative opportunities and he pursues them. THAT is smart.

THAT is your opinion. nothing you say is going to convince me and vise versa...so whats the point of arguing?

The issue is, what does it take to be exceptionally successful? Anyone who has been around the block will tell you it has little to do with pure intelligence. It is about a combination of intelligence, intellect and street smarts. Go figure who has it!

that, i agree with

a person like the donald is pretty extraordinary. most men in his situation would not be able to sustain the constant success (and when i mean success i mean cash flow)he has. most men would give up, or be content at a much lower level. hes a very hard worker but hes been through all kinds of ish: divorce, bankruptcy, little real social life, no real family...just work.

so anywyas, what do you guys think about the apprentice?
