Before I buy it, I just want to make sure that "United States HistoryPreparing for the Advanced Placement Examination, Revised" by John Newman and John Schmalbach is the AMSCO book that people on CC recommend.

Yes. Also:

[Is this the book that Everyone suggests is the best for AP U.S History](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/749815-book-everyone-suggests-best-ap-u-s-history.html)

NO, i suggest the American Pageant…seriously
that book is boss

^ That is a textbook. AMSCO is considered the best because it’s a mini textbook, but it’s easy to read and has all the facts you need.

Yea the Princeton Review wasn’t very good

yesyesyes

got me a 5!

Yes, I definitely recommend the AMSCO book. It hits all the important stuff but still gives enough detail on everything.

REA > AMSCO.

That got me a 5.

AMSCO > REA

That got me a 5.

I used REA (not nearly as much as the American Pageant). I had plans on getting AMSCO, but Amazon predicted a 2-3 months for it be shipped, so I’m was hesitant as it was mid-January when I heard about AMSCO. But based on the reviews on Amazon, I would go w/ AMSCO.

nothing>AMSCO>REA

That got me a 5.

NO, i suggest the American Pageant…seriously
that book is boss

I agree this is boss. Its really boring and everything but will get you a 5. I read it & got a 5 on AP & 710 on SAT2
