The Art of Teaching?

I'm planning on taking this next semester. Can anyone enlighten me on some details of this course?

i too was curious about it...

I was also considering it, so any responses would be appreciated.

My friends took it a few years ago....both of them really enjoyed it and did well. If I'm not mistaken...there is also opportunity to earn extra credit.

The only problem was the fieldwork requirement since they both had part-time jobs and the girl proving the transportation wasn't always reliable.

Sounds good... anyone else have info on it?

Bringing this back from the dead since I’m also interested in this course

How long is the fieldwork requirement? There isn’t really much of a description of this - how many hours per week is this? I’m planning on taking genetics, doing research, and possibly TA’ing a course, so that would be a decent amount of work I suppose, but overall I wouldn’t be spending too much time in lecture, and I wouldn’t have any lectures on Friday, so would I be okay with the fieldwork requirement? Also, is the fieldwork requirement available for completion on weekends during the day at all?

so hoonose did you wind up taking it?

Nope, not yet. Maybe spring '10?

But why???

But why not?

its only one day a week, so I could theoretically only have one class on friday, and not have class till 1115 mwf instead of 1010 if I take hist 2920, so those are two reasons

do you know when the cs 2800 prelim is btw hoonose? I remember him mentioning in lecture but i don’t remember if he gave a date, the website still says tbd

Wait, so you guys know each other in real life? why not just ask each other face to face then?

haha (10 char)

And why didn’t you ask us that face to face even though you know both of us?

I think I remember him saying it’ll be the day on the schedule (Nov 3) but he hadn’t decided if it was going to be an in class or evening prelim.
