We have color guards in our marching band…correct that, we have only one color guard in our marching band.

Do you like year round schools? I personally would hate it if our district went on a year round schedule because then you wouldn’t have a large break to look forward to.

It’s so interesting how at one time, all of these “_____” threads were so popular, now they’re like, dead. So here’s to revival!

Woo hoo! But yeah, I like the year-round thing pretty well. Seven week summer is perfect for me because I started getting bored around the fifth week. Plus I like how my other breaks are pretty long. I just checked my school calendar and my upcoming fall break is 18 days long.

I’d prefer that kind of year-long schedule to mine >_>

What kind is yours? Mine’s not EXACTLY year-round. According to the district, we’re on a “modified year-round” schedule.

I’m half-Asian, am I allowed to be here? :P

I agree, in elementary school, while all the other “traditional” school students vehemently opposed year-round, I loved it. Loved it even more once I had to go to “traditional” school. Non year-rounders don’t know what they’re missin out on :)

@Swinter, at my old school, the colorguard would practice with the marching band 9am-9pm all summer, then of course after school. A lot of people did get a nice tan, if sounds like that’s not what you’re looking for haha

@ Redsnow

I’m half asian too!

^Cool! I’ve always wanted to be like half Chinese and half Korean even though I would still be 100% Asian, but I’m just a pure Chinese. Except I’m not a hundred percent Han…

^ I’m 100% Chinese too!!! (all Han) Though it would be cool to be part Korean, since I’m so addicted to the Korean entertainment industry LOL.

I don’t really consider myself “full” Chinese.

I’m proabably 75% Vietnamese and 25% Chinese. O_o

I’m wasian or white rice or whatever you want to call it. Lately I’ve been embracing my asian side though. :)

^On the bright side, you can circle yourself as Caucasian when you’re filling out any sort of test information.

Does it bother any of you that because you’re Asian, you’re expected to do better? My parents signed a petition a while ago that wanted to stop colleges from discriminating test scores.

^I know lol.

My dad is caucasian so I have a caucasian last name and I can trick adcoms. wewt! :)

As for the petition, the deeper problem is with affirmative action.

what r u guys taking ur junior and senior yrs?

I don’t really know yet. I’m just a freshman and plus my school offers both AP and IB so I don’t know which route I’ll go yet.

Whenever someone asks me what classes I’m gonna take in the future, I always tell them that that’s what guidance counselors are for. I’ll probably take a couple APs.

Swinter: We just kind of have a regular school schedule. Start in the middle of August and end in May. Our breaks end up being a week each, though.

We start near the end of August and we end in the first week of June.
