The Asian Thread

entering this thread a little late xP
I’m Japanese and sometimes I can’t go to my friends’ houses because their grandparents are there and they are all either Chinese/Korean/Taiwanese and still hold a grudge against Japanese war crimes. It’s kind of sad.

Wow! My parents are past that, I think. I don’t really know since I don’t have any Japanese friends.

ASIANNNNNN POWERS!!!

I’m Chinese lol.

i had this horrible otaku phase during middle school (imaginary anime boyfriend, inserting random japanese into conversations, spending too much money on sushi) … NEVER AGAIN.

I love getting free sushi at my local Kroger. They always have little samples out near their sushi counter and it’s delicious. :)

^I love free samples. My local Asian market (not really local, b/c it’s probably 20 miles away, but still, it’s the closest one to where I live) has basically turned into Costco in terms of giving out free samples of random foods.

Im Asian :D. But I love hong kong movies and music. None of that Kpop stuff.

Have a nice day

So this thread was a great success…

Japanese/Chinese here. Wow I got a B in AP gov this semester. I fell into a depression the whole week. e.e

I’ve gotten so many Bs and 2 Cs and 3 “pass” grades which would have been Ds that I’m pretty sure I don’t seem Asian.

I’m Asian in spirit, that counts for something, right?

Chinese/Viet here. any asians here get there SAT scores back?

@Yakisoba Don’t stress over one B. I highly doubt it’ll disqualify you from any colleges or anything. They won’t care about one lower-than-an-A grade

@quidditchcat That’s been happening to me a lot as well with tests. I’m pretty sure my chem teacher, who has labeled me as a stereotypical Asian, is reevaluating her judgment haha

@TinnyT hahaha indeed

@zerdang Took the SAT in November for the first time. My mom really wanted me to retake, or at least consider taking the ACT, but I don’t think it’s worth retaking a 2310. (my essay score kinda sucked, but whatever, still got a 760 overall in writing)

I still have hope to get all A’s. Almost halfway with my winter break homework. And I play badminton. I feel so stereotypical…

Got my first Asian F (A-) on my transcript… in my only non-AP/Honors class. I’m not stereotypical anymore :’(

@elf4EVA This may be a BIT of a stretch but does your name happen to be from Super Junior’s fanbase, ELF?

@TinnyT Yep, that’s what it is, back in the good ol’ days when I listened to them way too much. I’m more into their older songs though, like before 2010/2011.

@zerdang Yeah haha. I studied pretty hard for a 2400 on the SAT. I ended up getting a 2370 on it. Pretty good score but I was kinda disappointed I didn’t get perfect haha. Have you gotten your score back?

whew… must have studied harder than I did lol I got 2110. I was hoping to do better since my psat was higher but I can’t complain since I took my actual sat less seriously. Considering signing up for Jan. Sat now

I got a 2220 on the SAT as a best one-sitting, which nobody around me is okay with. But now it’s too late.
