The summer's special fiction issue of The Atlantic magazine taps FSU's Creative Writing Program as one of the Top 10 Graduate Programs in Creative Writing as well as one of the Top Five Ph.D. Programs in Creative Writing in the country.

"It's nice to be included," novelist and FSU Creative Writing Program director Mark Winegardner said. "I am pleased but not surprised we landed on the list."

The Atlantic Top 10 list is presented in alphabetical order; it does not assign top-to-bottom numerical ranking.

Besides FSU, it features Boston University, University of California at Irvine, Cornell University, University of Iowa, Johns Hopkins University, University of Michigan, New York University, University of Texas' Michener Center and University of Virginia.

The Atlantic fiction issue - which features short stories by John Updike and Tobias Wolff - is currently available on newsstands.
