THE "AUDITION" the film

Mezzo…my DD got it under the tree this Christmas  Her comment when she opened it was “Oh good…I’ve been wanting to see it” and she tucked it away planning to watch it with friends when she got back to school. (DH and I saw it when it was out last year and thought it was a must see for her)

Loved it!!!

I am exhausted, the tension was high! Wonderful voices. I knew about Ryan Smiths death, but it was very sad after watching the movie and getting to “know” him more, he had a beautiful voice and and wonderful communications skills in his singing.

I watched it and it was wonderful but all I could think was - THIS is what she wants to do?

This all kicks in at the end of this year for D. All summer will be focused on her “five”. She thrives in competition and auditioning. I think you REALLY have to enjoy the process and pressure to survive in this business.
Me?..not so much.

My son and I decided to watch The Audition as a fun Sunday evening activity to put a nice ending on our weekend. We loved the film and were having a great time – up until the last minute when the fate of Ryan Smith appeared on the screen. We were flabbergasted and just so upset afterwards. We tried to console ourselves with the thought that he was able to live out his dream at age 30 when many other people live for decades and never experience that kind of thrill. But what a tragic loss. I can still hear him on the phone . . . “I won, Mama!” Heartbreaking.
