The bar scene??

So, I'm considering Loyola for next year and everything about it seems great but I have to wonder about the off campus party scene. Are going to bars the only option when it comes to partying? If so I have to wonder...what do the underage kids do when they want to party? Do you need a fake ID? Do some bars not check to see if you're underage or not? Are there any house/dorm/apartment parties or is the social scene completely off campus? Thanks in advance.

This is a serious site for important questions.

i'm aware...it was a simple quest. about the social life. sorry to offend...

D graduated last year. Plenty to do on campus, but bars on York ave. are definitely THE meeting place. Unfortunately, these establishments also happen to be in one of the worst parts of town. I always felt a little uneasy knowing that she was down there. I guess I felt the old safety in numbers thing kept her safe. Most students take cabs. Regardless, coming from a small town helped her grow and develop survival skills from the whole experience.

As a current student, I am not exaggerating when I say that the nightlife here consists 100% of bars/clubs. If your thing is partying, this is not the place...they don't exist.

And the school does a horrible job of having entertainment on campus. Nick Swardson came one weekend, as did Third Eye Blind. That's two Saturdays out of the entire academic year in which I had reason to stay on campus - that's it.

thanks for the input.

Zito - Is a fake ID necessary to get into the bars for those under 21?

im also a current LoCo student, theyre not necessary as some bars dont always check, but for the most part you def need one
