The Barnard Supplement?

It says please answer in a well developed paragraph and there are four questions. How long do you think a reasonable paragraph should be? They did also say if need be, we could attach sheets to the application. I haven’t started the common app year but the questions on the supplement got me thinking.

Thank you, have a great day!

Hey!

The supplements each have their own ‘character limits’. Most applicants, as far as trolling CC as told me, exceed the limit by far. However, I’m sticking to it. Approximately 300 words fit well into the 1000 character limit. I reckon going up to about 500 is safe.

Thanks Selzilla!

Each of my essays fit within the 1000-character limit and I got in. It doesn’t hurt to be concise.

i think that there is a reasonable point in this limit. because actually it’s not that easy to put all of your ideas in 1000 characters and sound unique. It’s a mastery. so I think u must do your best to fit in 1000.

oh dang. my longest supplement was 363 words. the other 3 also exceeded 250 words.

Unless things have changed from last year, it definitely doesn’t hurt to go longer. Well, who knows if it “hurts”? But it definitely doesn’t kill your chances, and my guess is it doesn’t hurt at all unless you really overdo it.
