Had a good time. Entertaining, if nothing else.

Shogun: I believe that the new cadets will be allowed to walk to their classes unescorted.

mom3boys: Are you referring to the Dean? He is a really nice person. I don't think cadets fear him as a person - rather they fear the rigor of the academic course load and the time constraints that require them to prioritize. Since there is no "5 year plan" the pressure can be intense.

Since they started classes and often during reorgy they are called plebes, but they are also still called NC by many. So yes, I know the corps has...

Yea, we've sorta been honorary Plebes this week? It is an odd dichotomy, for sure.

In my company, at least, we have to be escorted to breakfast, but then we're on our own until 1600. After 1600 (end of classes), we're back to getting escorted everywhere.

We've been called everything. New Cadoodles, Plebe Units, New Cadets, Plebes, etc.

Ten and a butt hours. :)

PS - interesting side note: Come Thursday (first day of classes), most people broke out contacts or civvy frames. Not too many people kept their BCG's on after classes started.

Today in the parade rehearsal, one such classmate was approached by the CSM and told he needs to wear the BCG's until the Parade. Poor guy.

"PS - interesting side note: Come Thursday (first day of classes), most people broke out contacts or civvy frames. Not too many people kept their BCG's on after classes started"
Shogun: I hear it too, The Corps has...

Micah: Only some broke out the contacts and "nice" glasses. My son had BCG's for the parade and after he got to his barrack he got his other glasses. He didn't switch to the contacts until after a nice long shower in our room. Congrats on making it to plebehood! Y'all were beautiful!!!!

mom3boys, Enquiring minds want to know. Why are you on the internet when you could be soaking up the ambiance of the second best service academy with or without your new plebe?

Some people have to work tomorrow....We just got back in town around 3...we left early in the day to allow the plebes extra sleep time and study time! Actually, the airline changed our flight, so we really didn't have a lot of choice...all the later flights were booked solid. BTW, the only way USMA could be considered the second best service academy was if it was counted twice, so it could be first and second. That place is so utterly amazing; there is just no contest, sorry to all the others--that's just the way it is.

In other, more relevent news:
We were kind of bummed that we couldn't bring a picnic since we flew, but do you know we found TWO restaurants in walking priv that served SWEET TEA?? Our southern boys were so happy!!

Oh my what a weekend! I am thoroughly exhausted - physically and mentally.

Ann & Shogun - no worries about "The Corps has....."
Class of 2012 - longest Beast, most miles rucked, most ruck marches, highest retention, highest APFT scores - they are ..... Hooah! ;)

JAM4: You are so right!!! Except I was told I am not allowed to say "Hooah" or "woobie." HAHA! What a great weekend!!! It was waaaaaaaay too short!!!
