The Beatles

I don't know, I just don't get it...what am I missing?

What's so good about them?

Im 18 but I know plenty of people my age who admire them.

I heard Hey Jude, Sounds depressing so I didn't bother litenting on.

what song would you introduce to me to get me to love the beatles?

from superbad the guy says "It was like listening to the beatles for the first time"...I want to know what I'm missing out on.

Not being an avid Beatles fan (although I do like their music), I’m probably not the best person to answer this question… However, personally I would suggest: “A Hard Day’s Night”, “Hey Jude”, “All Together Now”, “Help”, “All You Need Is Love”, “Blackbird”, “Here comes the sun”, “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “She loves you”, "“With a Little Help from My Friends”, “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”, “Eleanor Rigby”, “Hello, Goodbye”, “I Want to Hold Your Hand”, “When I’m Sixty-Four”, or “Yellow Submarine”-mostly because they’re my favorite Beatles songs (sorry for the long post :/).

Hey Jude is overrated. I like “Hard Day’s Night” and “Revolution.” But you might just not like their style.

“here comes the sun” and “i wanna hold your hand” are good

If you don’t like it then (the right than?)) its (the right its?) okay. Music is taste and I personally don’t believe it’s chosen over one or the other. You can make up arguments for why you like it or not, but that’s about it. I hate how men and women choose their friends pertaining to the music others listen to. Shallow.

Best from the Beatles:

Michelle

Hey Jude

The Long and Winding Road

While my Guitar Gently Weeps (George Harrison)

Penny Lane

All You Need is Love

Something in the Way

Help!

Eleanor Rigby

They are awesome. =P.

My favorite Beatles songs are Piggies, Rocky Racoon, and I Am the Walrus.

My suggestion is to go to the library and pick up a CD containing a lot of their hits, a compilation. Give them a shot, but if you still don’t like them, then it’s not like there’s anything wrong with you. Everyone has different music tastes.

Some of my favorite songs are:
-Here comes the sun
-Eleanor Rigby
-Help!
-Hey Jude
-I am the Walrus
-Happiness is a warm gun
-Strawberry fields forever
-Lovely Rita

Part of the reason I admire them so much is because of the way their music had an impact on an entire generation. The ideals they tried to promote are, imo, applicable for every generation, which is why I think they are still influential (leaving aside the drugs, etc… but i hope you catch my drift).

The Beatles were the birth of rock and roll!

Their songs are good. You must like (at least a few songs of) the Beatles. As long as you don’t like the Beatles, your taste in music will be invalidated.

They’re one of those bands that for some people (like myself) didn’t start liking until after listening to them a couple of times. I really didn’t enjoy their music until listening to more songs by them. Now, I think they’re great.;)

Songs you should check out:
Day Tripper
I Am the Walrus
A Hard Day’s Night
Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds
Come Together
Hey Bulldog

try:

come together
while my guitar gently weeps
girl
i am the walrus
across the universe
helter skelter
please mr. postman
michelle
happiness is a warm gun
all my loving

those are probably my top ten
