Okay guys, it's official.

~anythreadsthathavetheseboardersarestupid~
Isn't someone else supposed to make an offical thread for you?
Um, you are a selfrightous feminist who is all up in Political correctness, and it would do you good to let your hair down.

what's official? What is the thread about?

Are you going to give it a nice nick name and logo like they did with the Indian Thread (TiT) ?

Mike- My hair is down. And I think you guys are just soooo cute when you get all fired up.

Stuck- Why would I want to call my thread tit? What is wrong with you?

no no. TiT is an abreviation for The Indian Thread..as in T I T.. go to the international forum and see for yourself...

Your feminist post was well written.

Okay, seriously, I can tell I'm going to have to go slow with you. First of all, feminist merely implies that a woman believes she is a man's equal. It doesn't mean she doesn't shave (I proudly do) and it doesn't mean she doesn't wear bra (this I also do very willingly). In fact, she can even wear makeup! OMG! She can even be a man, if she wants to! She can even be somewhat fashionable! She might even like to shop and get manicures! Wow. This is just unbelievable.

Men who are afraid of feminists are not real men. They're wimps who don't want their lack of manlihood to be challenged.
Are you a democrat? Have you seen any feminst republicans?

where is that "feminist post"??

Mike- Yes, you're very smart, I am a proud democrat.
Have I seen any feminist republicans? I've never looked.

nicely done (with the feminist post). Short and strongly worded and proves your point. :)

I don't know much about American political parties, so is a feminist republican something rare..and are feminists usually democrats? Please clarify :):)

CONSISTANCY!
(can you tell I'm really bored?)

someone answer my question.
and yes you seem really bored.
and..she thinks you r an idiot but admires a comment you made on a certain topic.

Stuck-
In its simplest form, being a "feminist" really has nothing to do with political parties. But, like all ideologies, it has gotten mixed up in politics. America does not really accomodate third parties, so consequently, feminists can not be an effective policy-making group.

So, I would say feminists would tend to be more democratic than not. This may be due, in part, to the democratic party's openness to minorities or oppressed individuals, (President Kennedy set this precedent, although this could be argued till the end of time) such as African-Americans. The feminists have long clung to the African-American's fight for equality, almost like a game of tag-along. The connection between the African-American and Feminist plight was forged in the 19th century abolition movement. It was in this fight for African-American equality that the earliest inkling of the Feminist movement was born. Women learned how to be activists, how to protests effectively, and strategies for petitioning members of Congress for rights. They learned to spot prejudice. Women began to examine their condition, and in this found inequality.

Republicans tend to be less open to homosexuals, it might be a bit of a misnomer to say they are less open to African-Americans, but they are certainly less open to direct assistance for the needy and poverty-stricken. They believe much more in small government and charity organizations to fill the void.

It's an interesting question.

I can't wait to go to a school where I am not one of the "smart ones".

In the USofA republicans genreally want to go back to 1950s, where everyhting was pleasant.

Democrats are generally more liberal and want to go to the 2050s today.

Women started the feminist movement in the 60s, so that would be you explanation.

Mike- I think everyone's an idiot naturally, it's part of my Napoleonic Complex.

wow just look at the comparison of posts from me and bendrumfront. We give different answers that are both logical, but hers is long and detailed, and mine is big picture.

That in itself is interesting.

edit: GOSH!

Mike- No, women did not start the feminist movement in the 60s. Think Christain de Pisan's City of Ladies in the 1200s. The Feminist movement is not really a movement, it's an ideology. Pick up a copy of the Feminine Mystique at your local library, the high school U.S. history texts don't even touch the surface...

thanks for clarifying :)

by the way, i pointed out the whole: she types alot you type less, thing a long time ago.

The Bending one is tyring to conquer CC. Why am I not surprised.

Well, you have to agree that the 1950s role of women is different than the sterotypical bra burning one of the 1960s.

But I'll admit to simplifying (and distorting) facts to get a message across.

^ Yes, you did. What can I say, if I weren't a raging feminist/international politics kind of girl I'd be an english major...
