The Berkeley Thread!

Well, it would be nice not to have to dress like a hiker every time you venture outside. I used to wear sandals year round in socal, it was great. I'm still going to Cal if I get accepted there, but you can't beat socal weather.

The weather here is great... I'm in class right now w/ shorts and flipflops so it's not always cold. During the late fall and winter...yeah its cold, but spring is beautiful and summer is really nice, a few hot days but nothing too hot. fijeeboi, keep those sandals...you'll still use them here...=)

I guess weather really depends on the person.

Personally I love both SoCal weather and NorCal Weather.

I love Berkeley weather because it's cool year round and you can wear whatever you want.

SoCal you can almost always count on good weather, except for a few exceptions. But I think weather/environment should be a factor in your decisions, because I know sometimes the weather can affect people's mental states when they can't handle it.

Good luck to everyone who applied to Berkeley! 2 more days :-D

it is always hotter than balls in socal during the summer months...hell we're not even in May yet and I want soak myself in a bathtub of ice before I step outside. I turn the A/C on in my car to full blast and my car barely gets cool by the time I get home from school (30 min drive). whoever that says LA weather is good is seriously deluded.

It's not that hot man. It's nice and breezy and summer-y he he. I'm going to miss So Cal's weather if I go up north :( Even during winter I've never had to wear a sweater. When I visited Berkeley a while ago it was foggy and raining womp womp.

HAHA, yeah it's not THAT hot.

I love it actually. I'm gunna jump in my pool in like 5 minutes.

You guys should move to the central coast -- it rarely gets above the mid-70s in the summer, and hardly goes below 60 in the winter.

2 more days!!! can't wait!

This is driving me crazy. I wish someone could put me in a freezer until Weds.

You can do the whole south park thing and freeze yourself and then wake up in a world without religion and then have wars over whose science is better.

received an e-mail today...

Please convey this information to your admission officer on April 30th,
should you be offered admission to Berkeley. His/her name and contact

information will be on your Conditions of Admission.

UC Berkeley
Admissions Staff

lol sreyes, that will give rise to people modifying their app to see if they get the email and speculating if it means admission

new theory! :D

what kind of e-mail is that?! what information?

A response I received after I sent over a fax of my revised app.

sreyes- why did you send fax?

I called up an admissions rep about revising myBerkeleyApp and she told me to both send a fax of the update and to do it electronically. She said the fax would go to the reviewer of my app.

damn... i was freaking out for a sec!!!

You guys are too tense.

social science people! last year 300 acceptance out of 1200 people! exactly 25percent it's ganna be very hard to join the 300!!!!

Yea but most likely it will even be tougher this year with more applicants. Only around 20% this year.
