The Berkeley Thread!

luvtoolearn: thanks for all your info. how is the admissions process different at berkeley?

bowtotheserge: do you know of anyone else applying to rhetoric? it seems we are rare.

ccstudent88 - taken from assist.org :

Communication (Public Argumentation and Rhetoric Concentration) B.A. (CSUSB)
Communication B.A. Option in Communication for Social Change and Rhetoric (CSULA)
Communication Studies: Rhetorical Studies B.A. (CSULB)
English: Rhetoric and Composition B.A. (CSULB)
Human Communication B.A. Concentration in Writing and Rhetoric (CSUMB)
Rhetoric B.A. (UCB)

Now I'm actually more worried about the pre-req thing. My CCC offers two of the three pre-reqs for geography, but I could not take one of them there because it is only offered during the day (when I am working at my inflexible job, which I didn't want to prematurely quit for one class). I complained to the department head about this as it greatly disadvantages non-traditional students - it has only been offered during the day for the past 2 years and will only be offered during the day for the next 1 year.

Anyway, I found that another CCC nearby offers a different class at night that will fulfill the same pre-req, but minus the economic slant, and wrote to the Cal undergrad advisor asking if it would suffice. She suggested that I take it and economics, and I listed all of this on my supplemental application regarding classes in-progress.

Why do so many people go into Political Science?

^why is the sky blue?

because the ocean reflects off the sky duh

because it reflects off the ocean*

nonsense. Does a mirrow reflect off a person or does a person reflect off a mirror?

Oh I never thought of it that way, why is grass green?

Berkeley only allows you to choose 1 major. There's no alternate.

Pretty sure you guys are kidding, but it has nothing to do with the ocean. O_o

Sorry if I fail at catching your sarcasm.

my dad would say "why are tits fun to play with?"

its just the way it is.

I just fixed a minor error on myBerkeleyApplication. Will admissions officers still be able to view the revised info?

i highly doubt it. the deadline to update was months ago.

sreyes, they told me to fax changes at this point.

Of course it may delay your decision by god knows how long.

^Thanks. I'll be sure to contact them ASAP.
