LOL u know what ur actually kinda lucky u got Spring, look it at it this way, ull get to take a summer to relax and gather urself, and be completely prepared to go back to school (at UCB!!) whereas, I have to go in for Fall all groggy and crap…well hopefull i wont be too groggy, but u get what im saying.

@emil: it depends on what you plan on doing after ur undergrad, if u know what ur gonna do, tell me, and i can give u my opinion, which hopefully helps you out.

oh and about the fb group, maybe i have, maybe i havent hahaha ;)

ahaha I agree… I kinda secretly wish I was a Spring admit. That way I could study independently and get a bit ahead of the game to make the transition easier.

Yeah, I’m not ecstatic about spring, but it isn’t a deal-breaker.

However, my MAJOR is a deal-breaker more or less.

I’m meeting with the dean of L&S to figure this stuff out.

BTW for my fellow CC-ers, I’ll be happy to post the contact information of L&S advisors and department heads. I’ve been contacting them left and right. Damn weekend!! lol I want to hear back!

To get to fall admission, I have to meet with the dean of L&S and some advisors. It’ll take some work, and a bit of my “sly and cunning ways” < insert Cartman voice, but I think I can manage it.

@ mikei: Yeah that’s true. I could study and get ahead. It does have its perks, but the perks are overwhelmed by the knowledge of having to wait until January 2011 to start :(. I mean that seems SOOO far away to me lol. I had planned to be going somewhere (basically Berk or bust) in the fall, but that isn’t an option for me yet. I want to be a Bear in the fall because:

football season

rushing/pledging fraternities

be on pace to get out in 2 years

get out of my CCC for good lol
-…I just want to be a Bear lol

@ CalBearGuy: I’m not entirely sure, but I was told to contact them and set up a meeting. It certainly can’t hurt. I’m thinking that since I am switching majors (ideally) I could use this to compel them to put me into psych since I’ll have the prereqs done.

I’m just trying to meet up with many UCB faculty in L&S and the social sciences to do the best I can to make it happen.

@ jane: Thank you so much! I hope so lol. I’m so torn at this moment. Hopefully this week will clarify things for me. I’m really worried about my future.

I love how I thought that I would know where I’m going immediately. Unfortunately, I have no clue as of now, but I know its between UCLA and UCB.

emil, thanks for your input! I’d be glad too if you can post the contact info. Calbearguy, even though you’re biased towards berkeley, I see some valid points.

@ jane: You and I are in the same predicament…A predicament that I would have done almost anything for a year ago. What’s sick is that I’m still anxious…even after every school I have applied to has released their decisions.

I hadn’t anticipated this. I may sound like I’m bickering over 2 fantastic options and am whining, but I really don’t mean to! lol. I’m just torn and I seek advice from my fellow CC-ers.

my sister called me a University lust…i want them all.
the grass is always greener and i cant make up my mind.
but coming on CC does help…and sometimes it makes it worse.

at least it is a place to vent. everyone in my life is tired about hearing my bullsh1t and they dont understand :(

emil, ill be honest with you, switching into a one of berkeley’s “capped” majors as they call them, (i.e. psych, econ, media studies, etc.) is really hard to do, because they are really strict about letting ppl switch into those majors, very few ppl are actually able to do so…i still say it really comes down to what you want to do after ur undergrad. And really majors, these days dont really even seem to matter that much, I know someone who was a biochem major, who works at the Federal Reserve, doing stuff that you would think an econ or math major would end up doing, my uncle was a bio major and now he’s an investment banker.

Just glance over the UCB’s career center website and ull see a bunch of ppl who majored in one thing and got a job that was related to another major.
