<p>UCSB–excellent academics (esp. social sciences, physics, biomedical engineering, and languages). Idyllic setting, very social student population. Access to professors is easier than at the bigger UCs.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, it’s become very popular, so high GPAs/test scores is no assurance of admission.</p>
