Okay, so the teacher for AP Environmental at my school is kind of known as a slacker who doesn't really do anything. (Example: I walked into his room one time last year to do a yearbook interview with a student of his and I saw the teacher carefully placing little bits of ripped up paper all over another kid that was sleeping while taking a test. haha.) He's hilarious and I'm really excited to take the class because it should be fun... but I'm a little concerned for the AP exam. I know I'll need an awesome review book.
I can only buy one book because I'm taking 5 AP classes and I can't afford to buy more than one book for each class. I want a book that will not only help me pass the AP exam but also pass the tests. (Because this teacher is also known for giving pretty difficult tests for not ever teaching anything, haha.)
So, what would you suggest? Thanks!

PR is sufficient for the exam. As long as you read through it once or twice, you should do get a 5 on the exam (relatively short read).

Princeton Review is really good. Don’t take the class for granted. Just because the class is easy does not mean the exam will be. Good luck!

okay, thank y’all so much! i know, i’m afraid of how difficult the exam will be with an easy class. that’s why i want something to really prepare myself.

There is a Crash Course book that’s going to be released for AP Environmental. I can’t wait :)!

Princeton Review is good. I didn’t really do anything all year in class but I read PR the weekend before the exam and got a 4. I’m sure I actually tried I would’ve done better…

What about SmartyPants…? A lot of people recommend that.

The difficulty of the AP Environmental Science exam has been bumped up in recent years. Smart Pants falls short with 81 pages of review material and just 1 practice exam.

You can preview the book on Google Books. As you can see, it lightly skims over the basics.

Verdict: not worth the 17 bucks Amazon is asking for.

Hmm… perhaps I"ll get the PR or Barrons. In any case, I already own the SmartyPants book so it can’t hurt. IceQube are you self-studying APES too?

theking101: I’m actually taking an online course for APES. I’m mainly taking it to boost my GPA :).

Good luck with self-studying APES! You may find this site useful :):
