The best book for Critical Reading

It seems like everyone seems to have their own idea about how to study for critical reading.

I've heard that you should get a couple study guides or sat books to study, but have not heard a strong opinion on any one in particular

If you were to suggest one sat book to help for critical reading (minus the blue book, which is practically a given) what would it be?

i liked barrons verbal

The Official Collegeboard Blue Book.
i've learned a vlabualbe lesson - don't even bother looking at other books (exception direct hits for vocab).

invest all your time into collegeboard material.
if someone wants to ellaborate on the online thing though, that'd be great. I myself don't fully know what that is.

^ The online is basically a rehash of the 10 REAL SAT's in terms of CR since it takes CR passages directly from that book. In terms of Writing/Math, it's different...and slightly harder in my opinion. The essay grading is completely inaccurate for the online course so don't rely on that. It gives you a score according to your word count.

isn't that how the essay is normally graded? score based on word count? ;)
Just playing, but is it worth it to do the online tests afterwards? How many tests is it?

@King...: But where do you get detailed answers and explanations for review purposes?

I think there are 7 online tests.

is the collegeboard online course helpful? I'm weak on CR.

bump bump bump

the online course is only good for the tests. nothing else.

Anyone can answer me where we can obtain a reliable, comprehensive collection of answers and explanations to the practice tests in CB' s Official Guide book?

Test Masters Bookstore

2nd one down

There are sticky topics to the answers & explanations of BB questions in this forum.

Yet these topics are just arbitrary (aren't they?) and NOT official.

any suggestions other than the official collegeboard stuff?

Kaplan CR workbook. It does wonders.
