The Best College for a History Major

Hello,

I am a City College of San Francisco student applying to SD for Spring, 2010, as a Jr year History major. I realize that UCSD is not known for its History program, so I did some prelim. research to figure out which of the 6 colleges would best suit my academic interests. However, I couldn't tell from the descriptions whether "Marshall, Warren, Muir, or 6th" would be best for me.

Until recently I wanted to be a Marine Corps officer, and now I want to be a teacher, so I'm a very service-oriented learner. In fact, my primary motivation for going to college is to earn the opportunities and the credibility to serve meaningfully.

That being said, do the colleges really matter for a Jr year transfer? If so, which one is best for me?

Respectfully,

I would recommend Muir or Warren for a transfer. The less GEs you have to complete, the better. Muir would be great for history as well.

Marshall would also be good, if you complete igetc you are finished for ge requirements and Marshall is very public service oriented.
