Wow, not 1 but THREE “best” tattoo parlors! Who knew?
Seriously, thanks for posting - what was your source?

bucket list!!!

If I were to get a tattoo, I would certainly want a “Professional” one!

Source: Visit Tuscaloosa via Facebook

I think this thread could be our go to thread when people ask where to eat, where to stay, what to do.

We need to add our own Best of Hotels:

Best Budget Motels
Best Mid-Price Hotels
Best Nicer Hotels

Thanks so much for starting this thread, mom2college!! Will come in handy when we make our second visit to Tuscaloosa soon to preview Blount Initiative.

Awesome list! Thank you!!! I have printed it off and will use it I am sure endlessly :)

Brooke Pancake?

^^^^ Ladies Golf.

My youngest D is a golfer and she intends to go to UA like her sister. The UA ladies golf team won the NCAA Championship in May 2012.

Ah, didn’t know that.

I’m hoping to play the Robert Trent Jones Trail sometime.

Has anyone stayed at this place?

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g30900-d242221-Reviews-or10-Greystone_Inn_Suites-Vance_Alabama.html#REVIEWS</a></p>

My only concern is that it’s a little far from campus.

^^^I have, rip. Plain, simple, clean, super friendly staff. Gets the job done. I’ve booked space there for this fall in anticipation of coming out for a game.

Some to add:

Fine Dining: Evangeline’s
Seafood: Tin Top (actually in Northport, but worth the extra few minutes drive)

Best Peanut Butter Pie: Cypress Inn

Yum!

Calantha, Tip Top is opening a location in Downtown Tuscaloosa.

It was a bit confusing to see three winners for each category rather than one. I also noticed that Taco Casa was not listed next to “Best Mexican Food,” but was listed next to “Best Sweet Tea.”

"I also noticed that Taco Casa was not listed next to “Best Mexican Food,” but was listed next to “Best Sweet Tea.”

That’s cuz Taco Casa can’t really be called Mexian food. lol I barely call it food. lol

That said, we do like Los Tarascos. The shopping center where it’s located is a bit divey, but the restaurant is fine inside and the food is good. It’s much bigger inside than you’d think.

Another Broken Egg Cafe has opened on RiverWalk

<a href=“Home - Planet Weekly”>Home - Planet Weekly;

Went to “Another Broken Egg Cafe” yesterday. Very good, excellent location over-looking the river.

I know it’s a franchise and they only serve breakfast and lunch (close at 2 pm) but with that fab location and views, I can’t imagine not taking advantage and eventually offering later hours.

“That’s cuz Taco Casa can’t really be called Mexian food. lol I barely call it food. lol”

Yep, my thoughts exactly, but my sister loves the place. I think people either love it or hate it. We stopped at the McDonald’s on 15th beside Taco Casa last week. There was a rank odor of spice and beef emanating from the storm drain in the parking lot. I don’t think that’s supposed to happen. We wondered why no one else was parked on that side. We had to move our car the smell was so bad. The smell was overwhelming and reminded me of the last time we tried to eat at Taco Caso. lol

I wish we would have seen this before and not after our visit! Ha - we did do fine regardless. We did have a nice meal at Surin if you like Thai food.
