The best place to study art history?

Hello,

Which of these two universities is the best to study art history at- The American University of Paris or Oxford?
I have been told that the best place to study art history is France, but unfortunately I don't speak French. I will be living in Geneva, Switzerland and was also wondering if a year of intensive/preparatory French course would be enough for a complete beginner. The university offers French courses at all levels. If intensive courses are really good I could enroll at a French-speaking university.
I would appreciate hearing about some personal experiences.

Thanks

American University of Paris – Oxford: Nina, these two aren’t even on the same planet, prestige-wise.

Of course Oxford, if you can get in. It’s a world class university, and it’s not like there isn’t art to study in England, lol!

French isn’t a requirement at AUP, American school, English is spoken, lots of American students there and English-speaking Europeans. Yes, you’d be in Paris, but certainly not at an institution of learning that has any significant renown. In fact, it can be argued that AUP is for rich kids who couldn’t get in anywhere else, or else just don’t want to work very hard in college.
