The Best Pre Med Colleges in Texas?

Hey everyone, I am currently a high school junior right and have started considering the career paths I will pursue in the future. Of course one of them is being a doctor (my parents are doctors and almost almost all I my cousins are also becoming doctors). I also live in Texas which may or may no be an advantage for me.

So I was wondering if anyone can tell me which schools in Texas have the best pre med programs?

Schools I am considering-
UT Austin- I am in the top 5% and of course this is our state's flagship school.
Baylor- People say it is good but I am not too sure.
UTD- I live in Dallas and I am also quite interested in the PACT programm I don't know if I'll be competitive enough though. Maybe they will accept more than 20 students in the class of 2013??
Austin College- I heard this school ha a crazy high medical school acceptance rate.
Texas A&M- good school but particularly interested unless there is something I don't know

I also want to go to a college that is not necessarily 'impossible' to get a 4.0 in. I've heard that UT Austin is particularly tough since the professors are comparing you to like 1000 other students. I want to basically go to a school that gives me the best chance to succeed. Any thoughts?

Edit: Also I was wondering if it possible to go to McCombs at UT Austin to get a business degree but also get the pre med requirements done? Or is that not allowed or not recommended?

I say UTD, but I’m slightly biased. At least 10+ people got into utsw this cycle. Im interested in seeing how this PACT program goes. I dont think cutting a year from med school is a good idea. Not sure how other 6 year programs do it, but I think its more common for it to be 2+4 instead of 3+3.

^ thanks for the advice! About how many students are in a single class? Is it like UT Austin with over a 100 students or more like high school with 30 students? Also I just now noticed all of my spelling/grammar mistakes in my original thread. Sorry about that. I am typing from my iPhone.

biggest class is gen chem with around 280 students since pretty much everyone takes gen chem. around 100 students for the other lower division classes. Less than that for upper division courses.

Why not add Rice to your list? I doubt too many people would argue that it’s the best academic school in Texas (though not necessarily from a value standpoint these days), and their medical school acceptance rate from people applying from their senior class is like 90-95% last I looked.

^ Haha I forgot about that school for some reason. I don’t think I can get on it unfortunately.

I too considering to apply to ut dallas pact, it seems like a good deal, whatever medical program is connected to a top 25 med school

so am i also applying to undergrad right now, and debating between ut austin and ut dallas for pre med. I know UT dallas is close to UT Southwestern, so would it be better to go to UT Dallas or UT Austin for premed?
