I'm a junior in high school and recently discovered my score on the March SAT. Needless to say I got a pretty average score, but I know I can do better and hit the 2000 range. What are the best prep books that I should purchase just for effective extra practice. I currently have the Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammar, PWN for math, and The Official SAT Guide.

There are many, many threads on this forum exploring the pros and cons of various prep books. I used the Blue Book (supplemented by Barron’s for the PSAT) and got excellent results. Depending on your strengths and weaknesses, different books may be more helpful.

I found vocab flashcards (Kaplan) really helpful.

I’ll recommend using Direct Hits for vocabulary. Its only drawback, in my opinion, is that it contains a small amount of words - around 440. But even then, it’s a very good book.
