Woops! I didn't realize that there was a forum for both the SAT and ACT combined. Anyway, I know ppl list a few books that are great. But I'm looking for only one book for each that is extremely helpful. I want to raise my overall score for the SAT at least 100 points and for the ACT, at least 2 points for my composite score.

Barron’s SAT 2400 seems pretty good and is aimed right at the College Confidential-browsing student. No lame Joe Bloggs stuff aimed at people that are trying to get 550’s. Just how to get those annoyingly hard questions at the end of sections.

ACT is almost purely content based so just get the official ACT prep book, take those practice tests, and review the stuff you don’t know.

I recommend McGraw Hill for the ACT- the first time I took the test with no prep in April, I received 26 in english, 34 in math -_-, 31 in reading, 32 in science, and a 10 essay for a composite of 31. I did 4 practice tests in conjunction with the REAL ACT and was able to pull out a 34 composite, 30 english, 36 math, 33 reading, 35 science, and 12 essay. Hope this helps =)

The Real SAT (Blue Book). I also like Kaplan.

Math- Gerbuers
CR- Mcgrawhill
Tests -Blue book
Writing - any
Vocab - DR
All for SAT. Costs about 50 but worth it.

I personally suggest College Board and the Princeton Review. You should also check this out to make your final decision, as there’s really no BEST book. It depends on your study style.
