I'm a student in Hong Kong. I'm fairly confident with the University of Hong Kong if I can work hard enough, but I'd also love to know if I have any chances in getting into awesome schools in the states. I had UC Berkeley or Stanford University in mind- though I'll never be confident on those... lol

I want to know the best school I might be able to get into according to the data above, and the chances? Thanks a lot! :)

I think you can get into Berkeley. I don’t see Stanford- I don’t think anyone gets into Stanford nowadays lol.

You have a good chance at Berkeley. Stanford is difficult to get into, but apply anyway.

Alright, thanks guys. Are there any schools that you guys know of that are harder to get into than Berkeley but easier than Stanford? This is simply out of curiosity. Thanks again:)

Bump.
I appreciate all of you though. (:

Are you looking for any school in particular? Any preference for east/west coast schools? Is financial aid a factor? Stanford is a reach, but you’re most likely in at Berkeley, although they tend to offer internationals less FA.

Ah I tend to prefer schools located around the West coast.
Financial aid is wanted but not needed.

You won’t get financial aid at Berkeley. If you want to major in the sciences, Cal Tech and Harvey Mudd are both fantastic. The other 3 Claremont schools are excellent (you can’t get into Scripps because of your gender). Reed is also great for the extremely intellectual students. If you’re looking for a larger school, why not apply to UCLA, UCSD, and/or University of Washington? All three are excellent schools with tons of internationals.

Although only Cal Tech and Harvey Mudd are more selective than UC Berkeley, all the schools listed above will give you a great education both in and out of the classroom.

Well, what schools you’re looking for kind of depends on your major, but in general the best schools on the east coast are Stanford, Caltech, Berkeley, UCLA, USC.

UCLA and UCD UCSD should be good. Caltech, and some good Lacs are also available. USC is also good.

Are you Chinese? Only a 3 on AP?

If you’re interested in literature or world history, caltech is not the place. Are you able to go out and visit any of these schools? I’m sure that would help you make a better choice.
