The best/worst state to study at in the U.S

worst: harlem, ny - mad niggers.

Thespian - you're right, the towns of Binghamton and Syracuse would suck to study in. But Ithaca isn't a dead town. I go there frequently - great restaurants, great indie theaters, wonderful shops; it's an awesome college town.

I'm not as familiar with New Paltz, but I've heard that that's a wonderful college town as well. But I've only visited there once, I don't live near there like I do Ithaca.

So that makes... New York City and Ithaca... uh, okay, that's two towns at least...

Syracuse has a population of 770,000...hardly a "town."

As a former Syracuse native, I have to say that if I was looking for a warm place to go to college, I would look to go to school in CT or Mass. :-P

Best state for colleges? Probably NC. Warm, great schools, and lots of culture.

Best: Cali, NYC
Worst: Everywhere else

I wouldn't like to study in Idaho...actually, I have no desire to study in the West or the South at all.

I'll stick with my Midwest and East Coast. :)

I'd like Massachusetts, North Carolina, Maine, New York, or my home, NJ. Studying abroad would also rock.

I would hate somewhere too warm like Hawaii, Florida, or CA.

For me:

Best: Maine, NY, NYC, Massachusetts, General NE area
Worst: Florida, Hawaii, Texas

I love the cold/snow, and Maine has some beautiful scenery. As for NYC, I wouldn't want to study here, but it is good for most people. It's extremely exciting, but I just can't focus. I wouldn't be able to adjust to Texas, as it is usually warm and I can't deal with that heat ;) And i'd be too distracted in Florida and Hawaii.
