I noticed that quite a lot of people in here are self-studying APs.
I am an international myself, my school (or any school in my country basically) doesn't offer APs, so I am on my own!

These are the ones I'm taking, plus the books I'm using:

Calculus AB (Kaplan, Barrons, Calculus the Easy Way, PR)
Physics B (Kaplan, PR)
World History (REA (tip!), 5 Steps to a 5)
English Language and Composition (PR)
Micro-economics (PR, 5 steps to a 5 + Tekstbooks (Mankiw, Krugman))
Biology (Kaplan, PR + Textbook (Concepts and Connections), might order Cliffsnotes)

How's it going with all of you guys? Which APs are you taking? Advice? Tips? Questions?
Rants about procrastination?

I’m self-studying macro, micro, environmental science and bio, in addition to the many exams I have to take for APs I’m actually enrolled in. >.<;;

I’ve barely started on Biology, not started on the rest. Exams are less than a month away.

Greaattt…

Aside from being dreadfully boring IMO, biology’s not that bad. But yeah, cliffs is definitely the way to go for bio. (:

Yeah… Im kind of procrastinating too Physics is going to be a disaster.
I took a physics course a year ago, and I haven’t touched a physics books since then (ergo: I haven’t studied yet.). As I have for most of the other tests as well. But I guess it will work out, since I know most of the content of my APs already.

Yeah. I basically signed up for AP Bio on a whim (registration was the last week of March at my school). I kind of regret it, too. I mean, to wait until the last month to self-study it is already bad enough, but to make matters worse, I have absolutely no interest in biology. Which makes it all the more difficult for me to focus. :(

Oh, and I just realized, GuiltyBystander. We actually have many tests in common. I’m also taking Calculus(BC), World, Lang, Micro and Bio. Haha.

I’m self studying AP Calculus BC, Psychology, and Physics C (Mech)…I haven’t really started Physics C yet…problem…
I’m also taking AP Bio and AP Physics B. For AP Bio, use 5 steps to a 5. My AP teacher says its the best book, but don’t get caught up on the human anatomy stuff.

self-studying Calculus AB. Using a textbook to provide practice problems, the ds marketing AP Calculus AB examination, and the princeton review. i am somewhat unprepared for section II of the multiple choice and the free response section.

Thanks Koreapride93, I might order the 5 steps to a 5 instead of cliffs then!

And kh267: Thats actually kind of funny, because I chose a really random combination of tests! Well, now I know I am at least not alone in my procrastinating-on-way-to-many-tests!

Jerrry4445: Yeah, I feel kind of unprepared for the FR part as well, but the problems in past tests don’t seem that hard though. Luckily. I am using Barrons, it’s much harder than the actual AP test, which leaves you less overwhelmed at testday.

Calculus is my first test btw (the 6th of May), I would have prefered an easier one though, like World History or Econ, because I never took a standardized test before (like the SATs, TOEFL, etc.).

I’m basically self studying physics C M/EM, apush, ap comp, and ap bio since my teachers haven’t prepared me at all for the ap exams…wow I hate my school.

I know this is completely unrealated but gulitybystander how are you going to take the exams if there aren’t any schools in your country that offer them?

Yeah… We have only one international school that offers them, I guess. But I’m not even sure if they have actual AP courses (I think they teach IB), I think every country has to have atl east one AP test centre… I am not sure… I have to take a 2 hour trainride to get to the test centre, though! Haha.

Self studying Calc BC and Latin Virgil. I’m taking Bio and Chem through school. I think if I keep going over calc, bio, and chem, I should be fine for those tests. Virgil…not so sure.
