Hello everyone and best of luck to those auditioning this week-end. D was just notified that she was accepted to Cal State Fullerton (non audition). It's nice to know that she will have some choices. We leave this week-end for her last and final audition and when she returns she is auditioning for her School's Gala and Jekyll & Hide (the same day) whew.

Yeah!! I just found out yesterday I 've been accepted to Shenadoah Conservatory for MT!!!!!!!!!!! Now, off to Ithaca for my audition there. This makes it so much easier...I really liked Shenandoah-one of my top picks. What a relief. Good luck to everyone...the waiting is the worst part of all of this.

iNaSpotlight: I have to chime in here. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Shenandoah is a top notch school in so many ways and I know you would be so happy there. I am a long time ago graduate, but I've had contact with the school for many years and have kept up with their progress.

Hi Everyone! I am "the mom" commenting on my d's sight. We are all breathing so much easier. She is in Ithaca now with dad for her final audition, and as she said..."it is so much easier now!" We were not expecting any feedback from any of the 7 schools she auditioned to until March! I was actually checking Shenandoah's late audition dates since they were one of the schools that you can reaudition for. You can imagine my surprise when the reply was not to worry, she is in the first group of acceptances!!! My d felt that she had a good audition, but as a mom, well, I was trying to cover all grounds. Good luck to all...we will still be anxiously checking the mailbox in March for other possible replies, but we are very happy. Thank you for all of the support!

Did you graduate from MT at Shenandoah? Yes, it is a great school. We have been there for performances and shadow days....very impressed. My D has shadowed several schools, and Shenandoah still remained at the top for her. The people there are absolutely wonderful. I will make sure she sees your post when she returns from her audition this weekend! Thanks for the support.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR DAUGHTER, INASPOTLIGHT!! Must be a great feeling and it is nice to know of one acceptance this early....makes the wait a lot easier. She has some place to go next year that she is very happy about....quite positive!

Hi "themom" : I graduated with a double degree in Piano Performance and Music Therapy. The musical theater department was fairly new and I DID play all the rehearsals and was in the pit for all of the shows except one; Godpsell. I actually got to be IN that one. The faculty are all so wonderful. It's a VERY family type atmosphere which I thrived on. (My photo is in the new theater and I have a brick on the sidewalk out front.) I know we posters here all LOVE our schools, and Shenandoah is no exception. It will always have a place in my heart.

No wonder you are proud...the music program is fantastic. We have looked at it since our d who is a freshman is a very promising flutist. (Ugh...yes, we could be going through this again in three years!!!!) Also, since our MT d plays three instruments, we looked at music as a possible back up. Music therapy is also very popular there. I like how you said it was a family atmosphere...exactly how we felt. The new conservatory is absolutely beautiful. I have probably walked on your brick and have seen your picture...I believe I know the hall of pictures you are talking about!! Hopefully my d will be in touch...so very busy with two shows, classes and co-oping...been a very busy year. Just spoke to "the dad", she is fast asleep in the hotel! Thank you again....

Kegosnell, that is fantastic news! I agree, a big weight is lifted when you get the first acceptance no matter how high that school is on your list because you are going to college! The rest is now a matter of which choices you will be given but you already have one fine choice. So, yes, breathe easier and enjoy this relief at this juncture in the process. You did well and I'm happy for you!
