The Big One

Hey y'all,

I can't believe it: But it has happened. My dream came true. I've been accepted to a couple of '10 Classes. Actually, it's not just a few - it's a lot. More than I could've ever anticipated or even dared to dream of.

*The question is : Which college to choose ? *

First things first - my college list :

Harvard - YES
Yale - YES
Brown - YES
Princeton - PENDING
Columbia - PENDING
Dartmouth - NO
Georgetown - YES
JHU - NO
UChicago - PENDING
Brandeis - YES
Duke - YES
Amherst - PENDING
Swarthmore - YES
Williams - YES

I know, quite a list. But I just figured that applying for the Class of 2010 was just going to happen once - so there you have it.

As for my major interestes I would have to say:
Communication (in any form), Drama, Writing (journalism and literature included) with a focus on the humanities.

Any suggestions?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

SeeYa Thomas :)

You got into Harvard and not Hopkins? Wow...I guess they thought you were overqualified.

Congrats on all those acceptances!

I even attended the "JHU Pre-College Program" in 2004, and still, they just downright rejected me.

And: The rejection letter was just mean.

Well, screw 'em. You got into Harvard and Yale!

That I'll do. ;)

Any suggestions, anyone ?

Definitely Harvard, then Princeton.

What makes you say that ?

That's a ridicilious statement, JIMMY~KILLARNEY. Both schools are so prestigious, it's all about intended major. What are you interested in?

If you're looking for a humanities focus, the Core at Columbia is chock-full of humanities: literature, philosophy, languages, writing, art, and music of Western culture, non-Western cultures and a little bit of math/science too.

Why princeton? I personally like it because of its intellectual atmosphere (err... not so much harvard). Princeton definitely is a great place to learn, situated in a small town of 50000. Yet, it only takes a 40minute ride from there to nyc.

I'd also strongly recommend you to look into various programs/courses related to jounalism and communications at Woodrow Wilson school of public policy/international affairs. That is one of princeton's highlighted schools and it is nationally renowned.

Oh, also the dorms at princeton are pretty unique and authentically "ancient," most of them equipped with a gigantic smoked fire place, within colonies of neo-gothic style architecture. And there are MILLIONS of SQUIRRELS crawling around EVERYWHERE.
