The Big "What Else"

For the optional "what else would you like us to know" supplement, would it be appropriate for me to send in a research abstract for a project I did over the summer? What do people usually submit in that section? Also, do most people send in the "what else"?

i sent in the what else with a few paragraphs about me. i made the what else form MUCH more personal than the formal essays on the actual application...i thought the what else form really gave me application a view of who i was. if you think a research abstract will help them paint a better picture of you, then i encourage you to send it. as for how many people send in the form, i really have no idea. the what else form isn't in the princeton online app, so i just printed mine out and snailmailed it

same here def890, it was on a more personal level about me.

I did the research thing...

I don't think that they will read it but it certainly adds a certain gravity to what you have done. If you give them one line, it's forgotten immediately. If you send them like a shortened paper or overview, it's something to hold in hand, they can imagine the work you've put in it.

At least this was my idea...

(My essays were so personal that I couldn't add much more to it.

ya i really poured my heart and soul into my essays :)

^yeah i agree too, my essays illustrated a lot about me already.
but my about me was more humorous and lighthearted though.

did anybody not send the "what else?" i also left the additional information box empty.

i didn't send any extra info

So does Princeton encourage a lot of additional info?
Because I know some schools don't.
I'm pretty sure Yale discourages extra stuff.

i have no clue. i just kind of assumed that i shouldn't send extra stuff unless it was absolutely necessary... maybe i should have. i feel like my app probably sucked compared to everyone else's. especially i never got any help from anyone on it.... except 1 person looked at my essay and gave very unhelpful comments...

haha the other day, I don't know what was wrong, I think I was pmsing or something, but I was looking at my princeton application that I had printed out and realized that it was CRAP and therefore predicted all my other apps would be CRAP too and started crying and sobbing, "I DON'T WANNA GO TO UT" D=

lol XD

I sent in a huge creative writing sort of thing....

I didn't get in, so I don't know if that killed my application :(

hey what college are you in now?

Where did you end up going?

^lol maddy underscore oh one and I think alike.

curiosity......driving force to excellence....lol

@ oh miss zana:

Managed to detect that I had misspelled my father's name 5 mins before it was stamped and sent off.

I had checked the page about 10 times - I don't wanna know where the other mistakes are... (in the earlier stage I found conservation instead of conversation. :D )

A native checked my work (not content-related, no other help for me, either.

Felt like nobody could help me with it (esp. not in Germany). Didn't read those I got in essays or so, just made it my way ;)

I'm at USC's Film school for screenwriting, which is more selective than Pton. (rolls eyes)

I almost thought of reapplying this year as a freshman again, but decided against it. There's always grad school.

check ^^^^ ... 10 char lol
