The Bill and Financial Aid

Financial aid has not yet been deducted from my bill. I called the financial aid office to see what was going on, when I found out that I was randomly selected by the government for verification and that I had to send in a verification worksheet. I faxed it in, and they said to check back in a couple of days, and that it could take two to three weeks for everything to appear on the bursar. Now I'm thinking, that could be anywhere from a little bit before the August 7th deadline to a little bit after. I'm going to call them again tomorrow to see what the heck I'm supposed to do, but my parents are beginning to get worried and man I haven't had a more stressful week in months. And also, is anyone else having trouble signing his/her MPN for the Cornell University and Federal Perkins loans? (<a href="http://www.ecsi.net/promM3/%5B/url%5D">http://www.ecsi.net/promM3/</a>)</p>

And another thing, apparently we get monthly bills... what monthly charges could there be, like overages on the internet and Cornell Card stuff?

What type of aid are you waiting on? If its a Pell Grant or a Fed SEOG Grant those won't be credited to your bill until just before classes start. If ypu are waiting for a Perkins/Stafford?Direct loan they will not credit your account until you sign the MPN and the online walk through.

When do grants from the university get credited???

I'm waiting on Pell and SEOG grants, and Perkins, University, and Ford Direct Subsidized loans. I've already signed the MPN for the Direct loan and did the entrance counseling, but I haven't been able to sign the one for the Perkins and the University loan.

By the way, if not all of the financial aid gets credited, how the heck do you pay your bill?

And also, I called the financial aid office yesterday and they said that other people have been complaining about not being able to sign the MPN for Perkins and University loans. Has anyone on CC experienced the same problem?

Don't worry, it will all get credited well before the registration deadline (which is the real due date of your bill). Don't freak out, just stay on your counselor. I don't think I signed my MPN until at a week or two into the school year.

I haven't even gotten information about my loan stuff. I'm so confused. My bill seems really high, too, since its like more than half of my family contribution?

I haven't received information about loan stuff either, I just dug around a bit. I called the financial aid office again and spoke to a different person, who told me that the financial aid would be credited to the bill like a day after my verification form is processed. Too bad my fax evidently doesn't work, though, so I'll have to mail it in tomorrow.

I wonder if my bill will seem a bit high... does anyone know if they're supposed to be this time around?

I'm guessing its for the semester, maybe?
