The Brown Early Decision 2017 Discussion Thread

Hello!

Brown applicant from India here!

Submitted my app on the 30th October, so excited!

This is for us to discuss our interviews, admission decisions and so on.

I still haven’t got an interview call, has anyone got one??

Let’s hope we all get in!

An interview call? ED is not even due yet.

I submitted my application on October 28th. I received an email on November 3rd for an interview, which will take place next week. I live in an area in California with several alumni.

which part of Ca, Southern or Northern ? I did not receive any e mail yet ?

Calm down. I didn’t get a call about my interview until November 15th or so, and I live in the Bay Area, CA. It just takes time for this process to happen.

Just submitted mine today

Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using CC

JUST SUBMITTED. I felt like I was cresting a rollercoaster

Haven’t submitted yet. Everything is done; it just needs a last look-over. Good luck to everyone.

I wish I could just sit in on the whole admission process there

2 of my friends already received interview calls. That’s probably why I’m panicking. Let’s hope for the best!

I wonder how much of an impact the interview has on acceptance.

I’ve submitted my supplement about a week ago but have yet to submit my common application… It’s coming down to the wire!

I receive my interview call.

I can still send in everything tonight right? I was just waiting to read over everything. When they say 11/07, they mean by 12:00 tonight, so I have the next three some hours to send, right?

yes. good luck :)))

Whelp, I just applied to Brown. It feels pretty cool.

Hey - I just read something that said Brown no longer posts admission decisions online? Does that mean we have to wait for the letter, or is there an ‘unofficial’ decision posted online?

Thanks

I posted this in a different thread, but I guess I can ask this here.

If I remember correctly, the admissions rate of ED was roughly 18%. Does anyone know what the deferral (and therefore the denial) rate for ED is?

Hi guys,

I sent my SAT Subject Scores on 26th October, and Brown still hasn’t received them. Is it taking abnormally long?

Thanks.

For 2012, 19% were accepted ED, but subtracting about 160 athletes, the acceptance rate is more like 13%. Over 2000 were deferred, which is about 70% (which isn’t very nice because they end up rejecting most of those deferred later anyways). This leaves about 11% rejected.

And SAT scores can take up to 2 weeks and they may not update your file immediately so I wouldn’t worry yet.
