No. Not everyone is interviewed and some interviewers just drop the ball.

So if say an interviewer is given a list of students to do and just decides, “screw this, it’s thanksgiving and I’m going on vacation,” then those students don’t get interviews?

Basically. In most cases, interviewers would tell the head of their area that they don’t have time and the students would be assigned to someone else. Many applicants to Brown don’t end up having interviews for one reason or another, and that’s the reason they don’t play a huge role in the admissions process. Honestly, they’re as much a way to keep alumni involved as a way to get to know applicants. They’re great for the people who get to have them, but the admissions office doesn’t take them too much into account.

How did you interview go?

And I still havent been contacted yet but as it turns out thats because my counselor STILL hasnt sent in the official fee waiver request yet. Hopefully they’ll receive the official request by tomorrow and soon contact me for my interview

I thought my interview went really well. It was really chilled and we spoke about the same stuff (Why Brown, ED is a big commitment, Extracurricular Interests etc). I asked a few questions.

Where did the interview take place? KFC? coffee shop? anything like that?

Mine took place in a local cafe, but I’ve heard of them being in homes, fancier restaurants, offices, etc.

Pretty dope that you posters could be going to school with me. Just a thought.

When I was applying I went to the guy’s office. As an alumnus, I do them at coffee shops.

I know this information probably hasn’t come out, but does anyone know when the results for ED will come out? I know there might be delays because of the hurricane. How is the date usually found out anyways?

Brown will inform you and make it very clear once they decide on the date. Last I saw (in a BDH article about a week ago), they were saying it’d still be mid-December.

@jackrabbit420,

yeah it took place at Cafe Coffee Day. I don’t think its anything to worry about.

For EA/ED decisions, I’ve seen December 15 as the date for multiple places. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brown is on or around the same date.
The nerves are kicking in and I want time to fly but at the same time, I don’t. Blah.

It tends to be around December 15th, but the question is whether it’ll be later because Brown extended its deadline due to Hurricane Sandy. I’m assuming they’ll just take some late nights and release it around the 17th or 18th.

I could have sworn that one of the e-mails Brown had sent me when I submitted my app said “December 13th at 5:00.” Now:
- I can’t find that e-mail.
- I remember I received the email before the Hurricane, so everything has changed. I’m okay if the decision comes out on a Saturday :)

EDIT: This seems to have come from a link of the Brown website. I just googled “when will brown release early decision” [Brown University Early Admission Decision](http://admissiondecision.brown.edu/)

Looks like the presents (or coal) are coming early this year.

According to Brown ([Brown University Early Admission Decision](http://admissiondecision.brown.edu/)), they will be releasing decisions after 5 P.M. on December 12th.

Thats 7 in the morning at my place. Dont think I would be able to sleep on that day.

I had my interview today! I was really nervous, but it ended up going pretty well. We met at a Panera type cafe. My interviewer started off by mentioning that we are from the same town and asked whether or not I like the high school.

Other questions they asked: why brown? What sets you apart from the 30,000 other students that are applying? what do you do outside of school? Why are you motivated as a leader? Anything else that you would like to say?

Good luck to everyone else!

how many of the supplements for other schools are you guys getting done?
