<p>I am international student applying for an undergrad in MEch Eng </p>

<p>I am currently sitting with my counselor , filling out the RPI admissions form and I have the following queries :- </p>

<p>Which one of the following E.C'S should i include ? .. they have spots available only for 4 E.C.'s </p>

<p>My E.c's are :-
I am the Writer/actor/producer/director of a movie that i have made on soccer . It includes around 40 students i picked from my school. ( my school Principal is a fan)</p>

<p>I am the vice - captain of my school team - soccer</p>

<p>I have worked as a repair/technician at an IT company (fixing computers , assistant , Repair guy, paid well)</p>

<p>Sales promoter at the GITEX Technology Week 2007,2008</p>

<p>I had setup a workshop in my garage in my summer holidays - i fixed cars , radio sets , TV's etc</p>

<p>I am the founder/president of the science club . </p>

<p>President environmental society of my school </p>

<p>100 hrs volunteer at al noor (institute for children with special needs)</p>

<p>which 4 of the above do i pick ? </p>

<p>and how do i put it in the below format ? </p>

Write a personal statement, in 250 words or more, about yourself ... be as creative as you like. </p>

<p>Include the 4 most important to you, then describe all of them in an attachment to the additional info section of the common app.</p>

<p>Choose whichever 4 are most important to you. See if there’s an option to include an additional supplement, such as a resume, if you want to include everything. You could also just use the common app instead if you want to be able to list more comprehensive information.</p>

<p>And I’m not sure how you’re confused on how to fill in the application—sections like “positions held,” “grade level,” “approx. time spent,” etc—sound self-explanatory.</p>

<p>You don’t have to write an actual essay when describing your summers. Just do it short answer style (for example, "From 2007-2008 I attended a program at…In June 2009 I worked at…, etc) with about a paragraph per summer depending on the word limit.</p>

<p>If you’ve won any awards from work in your ECs or in school, put them down. Again, not hard.</p>

<p>For your first job, based on what you’ve posted here:</p>

<p>Job: Assistant Technician at Mystery IT Distribution Co.
Nature of Work: Fixed computer hardware and software.
Employer: John Smith
Approximate Time Spent: 10 hours per week, 200 hours total.</p>

<p>Does that make sense? Just fill in whatever is asked.</p>

<p>All of them look solid, so choose the ones you like best and are most “passionate” about (although I hate that word). Don’t be too worried about their relevance to engineering; being well-rounded is also fine.</p>
