if i'm art history major, is it worth it to minor in art? or should i just shoose history or french?

Language Minor definately--which languages depend on your focus. I studied
Italian, German, French and Latin for Italian Quattrocento art. Italian, both
conversational and reading. French, German and Latin for reading proficiency only.

sauronv, It depends on what you see yourself doing with your art history degree. If you're interested in going into curating and expect to get an advanced degree in art history, then you'll need to have at least reading proficiency in two languages -- usually French and German, although other lanugages may be pertinent depending on your area of specialization.

You can study language without officially minoring in it, however, so that decision would depend on your level of interest in French.

The combination of art history and studio art is also a valuable route. Some career paths that use both skills are museum education departments, exhibition design, publication and promotional departments. Also art related professions like architecture or graphic arts. These two overlapping disciplines reinforce and support each other and it's often helpful to have experience and understanding of both areas.

Again, choose what you're most interested in.
